The following is a list of Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball head coaches. There have been 11 head coaches of the Dolphins in their 94-season history.^[1]

Jacksonville State's current head coach is Ray Harper. He was hired as the Gamecocks' head coach in April 2016,^[2] replacing James Green, departed after the 2015–16 season.^[3]

Green served as head men's basketball coach at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1996 to 2004, Mississippi Valley State University from 2005 to 2008, and Jacksonville State University from 2008 to 2016.

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. JSU is a member of the ASUN Conference, having returned to that conference on July 1, 2021, after an 18-year absence spent in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Gamecocks are coached by Ray Harper. During their time as a member of Division II, they were national champions in 1985.

They failed to qualify for the Ohio Valley Tournament. in 2017 the Jacksonville Gamecocks also made their first ever NCAA Tournament

The 2014–15 Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team represented Jacksonville State University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gamecocks, led by seventh year head coach James Green, played their home games at the Pete Mathews Coliseum and were members of the East Division of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 5–11 in OVC play to finish in fourth place in the East Division. They failed to qualify for the OVC Tournament.

The 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 13. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and ended with the Final Four in Houston April 2–4. Practices officially began on October 2.

The 2015–16 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers men's basketball team represented Western Kentucky University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hilltoppers were led by head coach Ray Harper in his fourth season. They played their home games at E. A. Diddle Arena and were second year members of Conference USA. They finished the season 18–16, 8–10 in C-USA play to finish in eighth place. They defeated North Texas and UAB to advance to the semifinals of the C-USA tournament where they lost to Old Dominion. Despite having 18 wins and a better they .500 record, they did not participate in a postseason tournament.

The Hilltoppers were led by head coach Rick Stansbury in his first season. They played their home games at E. A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Kentucky and were third-year members of Conference USA. They finished the season 15–17, 9–9 in C-USA play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost to UTSA in the first round of the C-USA tournament.

They finished the season 23–13, 11–7 in OVC play to finish in fourth place. They defeated Tennessee Tech in the quarterfinals of the OVC tournament before losing in the semifinals to Murray State. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Canisius and Central Arkansas to advance to the semifinals where they lost to North Texas.

The 2018–19 Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team represented Jacksonville State University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gamecocks, led by third-year head coach Ray Harper, played their home games at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Alabama as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 24–9, 15–3 in OVC play to finish in third place. They defeated UT Martin in the quarterfinals of the OVC tournament before losing in the semifinals to Murray State. Despite having 24 wins, they did not participate in a postseason tournament.

JSU returned to the ASUN Conference, which it had left in 2003 to join the OVC, on July 1, 2021.

The 2021–22 Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team represented Jacksonville State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gamecocks, led by sixth-year head coach Ray Harper, played home games at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Alabama. JSU returned to the ASUN Conference, which it had left in 2003 to join the OVC, on July 1, 2021. Although Jacksonville State lost the conference semifinal to Jacksonville, Jacksonville State got the ASUN automatic bid as the conference tournament champion Bellarmine were ineligible for the NCAA tournament due to them undergoing their transition to Division I, with Jacksonville State earning the bid due to them winning the regular season title. They lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Auburn.

The 2022–23 Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team represented Jacksonville State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gamecocks, led by seventh-year head coach Ray Harper, played home games at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Alabama as second-year members of the ASUN Conference. They finished the season 13–18, 6–12 to finish in a tie for 11th place. They failed to qualify for the ASUN tournament.
