2004 European Parliament election in Poland

Elections to the European Parliament were held in Poland on 13 June 2004. 20.87% of eligible citizens voted; of these, 97.33% of the votes cast were valid. The elections resulted in a heavy defeat for the governing Alliance of the Democratic Left and Labor Union parties, although the very low turnout makes a direct comparison with national election results difficult. As expected the most successful party was the Civic Platform. Second place was taken by the strongly anti-EU League of Polish Families.

Kisiel Prize or Kisiel Award is an annual Polish award presented in three categories: publicist, politician/public figure and entrepreneur whose actions most closely portray the spirit and beliefs of the Polish publicist and politician, Stefan Kisielewski (1919-1991).

Ballada o Januszku was a Polish mini series aired from 1988–1989. It was first broadcast on November 8, 1988. The series was based on the book written by Sławomir Łubiński.

The Independent Publishing House NOWA was the first underground publishing house in the People's Republic of Poland. After opening in 1977, it soon became the largest independent publisher in Communist Poland. In 1989, after the fall of Communism and the change to a democratic political system, the publishing house changed its name to SuperNowa and became private in 1993. It continues to publish works to this day, including books by Andrzej Sapkowski.
