Cushman Kellogg Davis was an American Republican politician who served as the seventh Governor of Minnesota and as a U.S. Senator from Minnesota.
Ozora Pierson Stearns was an American politician and attorney. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a US Senator from the state of Minnesota. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served as mayor of Rochester, Minnesota, and county attorney of Olmsted County. He was a Colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War.
Alan Cedric Page is an American former Minnesota state Supreme Court judge and professional football player.
William DeWitt Mitchell was an American attorney who had served as both Solicitor General of the United States under President Calvin Coolidge and United States Attorney General under President Herbert Hoover.
Pierce Butler was an American jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1923 until his death in 1939. He is notable for being the first Supreme Court justice from Minnesota, and for being a Democrat appointed by a Republican president. He was a staunch conservative and was regarded as a part of the Four Horsemen, the conservative bloc that dominated the Supreme Court during the 1930s. A devout Catholic, he was also the sole dissenter in the later case Buck v. Bell, though he did not write an opinion.

Hallam was a member of the faculty (1901–1945), dean (1919–1941) and president until 1945, of William Mitchell College of Law.
Cordenio Arnold Severance (1862–1925) was an American lawyer from Minnesota. He co-founded the American Law Institute and served as president of the American Bar Association. His wife, known as Mrs. Cordenio A. Severance published the book Indian Legends of Minnesota and survived the sinking of the RMS Republic in 1909.

Robert A. Stein is the Everett Fraser Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota and a past head of the American Bar Association. A scholar of estate planning, Stein was previously the William Pattee Professor and Dean at the University of Minnesota Law School, from which he received his law degree in 1961. He also taught law at UCLA and the University of Chicago.
Wilhelmina Marie Wright is an inactive senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She is the only jurist in Minnesota's history to be state district court judge, appellate court judge and state supreme court justice. She was formerly an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, a judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and a judge of the Minnesota District Court, Second Judicial District.
The 1916 United States Senate election in Minnesota took place on November 7, 1916. It was the first election for either class of U.S. senators held in Minnesota after the ratification of the Seventeenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which established the popular election of United States senators. Incumbent Senator Moses E. Clapp was defeated in the Republican primary election by former American Bar Association president Frank B. Kellogg. Kellogg went on to defeat former St. Paul Mayor Daniel W. Lawler of the Minnesota Democratic Party, and Prohibition Party challenger Willis Greenleaf Calderwood, in the general election.
