Umar Gul is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who is the current bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators and interim bowling coach of the Pakistan national cricket team. Gul was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, being the highest wicket taker of the tournament, along with being the runner-up of the 2007 tournament, in which he was also the highest wicket taker.

The 2011 Sri Lanka Premier League was a postponed Twenty20 cricket league. It was scheduled as the first edition of the new Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Sri Lanka, from 19 July to 4 August. It was postponed until 2012, which was held as the 2012 Sri Lanka Premier League, after problems due to allegations of corruption and incompetence by Sri Lanka Cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India had also decided not to allow Indian players to play in the tournament.

The Durdanto Dhaka is a franchise cricket team that plays in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), representing the country's Dhaka City, Dhaka.

The players auction for the 2012 Bangladesh Premier League was held on 19 January 2012 at the Hotel Radisson, Dhaka. Each franchise can sign a total of 10 local players and 8 foreign players, and can play up to 5 foreign players in each match. Each franchise will also have one domestic icon player in their team. Players were allowed to set their base price between $20,000 to $100,000.

The players auction for the 2013 Bangladesh Premier League was held on December 20, 2012, at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka. Domestic players were set a base price between $10,000 and $50,000, while international players were set a base price between $15,000 and $75,000.No Indian players included in 2013 BPL edition.

The 2007 ICC World Twenty20 Final was a Twenty20 International cricket match played between India and Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa. Administered by the International Cricket Council (ICC) it was the culmination of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 which was the inaugural edition of the tournament. India won by defeating Pakistan by five runs. The teams had previously played each other in a Group-D match of the tournament, which was also won by India.

Cricketers from many countries entered the draft to join franchises participating in the 2015–16 season of the Bangladesh Premier League. The draft was scheduled to take place on 22 October 2015.

The player draft for the inaugural season of the Pakistan Super League was held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 21–22 December 2015. A total of 308 players and 30 coaches, including Pakistani and Foreigners were divided into 5 different categories Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging. Each franchise had a salary-spending cap of $1.2 million, including the signing of players, coaches and support staff. There were five icon players and each team was allowed to pick one icon and six foreigners in a 20-man squad.

The player draft for the 2020 Pakistan Super League took place at National Cricket Academy, Lahore on 6 December 2019. The first round took place on 3 November 2019 to determine pick order. As this season was scheduled to be held entirely in Pakistan, only the players who were comfortable with playing in Pakistan were included in this draft.
