The following is a list of North Dakota State Bison men's basketball head coaches. There have been 23 head coaches of the Bison in their 124-season history. [1]

North Dakota State's current head coach is David Richman. He was hired as the Bison's head coach in April 2014, [2] replacing Saul Phillips, who left to become the head coach at Ohio. [3]

Saul Edward Phillips is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of the Northern State Wolves men's basketball team. Phillips is a graduate of University of Wisconsin–Platteville.

The 2008–09 North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team represented North Dakota State University. The head coach was Saul Phillips. The team played its home games in the Bison Sports Arena in Fargo, North Dakota, and was a member of the Summit League. They received an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament after winning The Summit League men's basketball tournament in their first year of eligibility, the first team to do so since Long Beach State in 1970.

They finished the season 24–10, 12–4 in Summit League play to finish in third place. They advanced to the championship game of The Summit League tournament where they lost to South Dakota State. They were invited to the 2013 College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Western Michigan in overtime.

They finished the season 26–7, 12–2 in The Summit League play to finish win The Summit League regular season championship. They were also champions of The Summit League tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. In the NCAA Tournament, they defeated Oklahoma in the second round before losing to San Diego State in the round of 32.

It was the first year for Saul Phillips as head coach for the program. The team played its home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 10–20, 5–13 in MAC play to finish in last place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC tournament to Western Michigan.

They finished the season 19–16, 9–7 in Summit League play to finish in a tie for third place. As the No. 4 seed in the Summit League tournament, they defeated Oral Roberts, Western Illinois, and Omaha to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 16 seed in the East region. There the Bison lost to overall No. 1 seed Duke.
