The following is a list of North Dakota State Bison men's basketball head coaches. There have been 23 head coaches of the Bison in their 124-season history.^[1]

North Dakota State's current head coach is David Richman. He was hired as the Bison's head coach in April 2014,^[2] replacing Saul Phillips, who left to become the head coach at Ohio.^[3]

The North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team is a part of the athletic program at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, U.S. They are members of the NCAA Division I and have been part of The Summit League since May 2007. Home games are played at the Scheels Center which is located on the NDSU campus in Fargo, ND. The team shares a conference rival with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Saul Edward Phillips is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of the Northern State Wolves men's basketball team. Phillips is a graduate of University of Wisconsin–Platteville.

The 2008–09 North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team represented North Dakota State University. The head coach was Saul Phillips. The team played its home games in the Bison Sports Arena in Fargo, North Dakota, and was a member of the Summit League. They received an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament after winning The Summit League men's basketball tournament in their first year of eligibility, the first team to do so since Long Beach State in 1970.

The Bison, led by sixth year head coach Saul Phillips, played their home games at the Bison Sports Arena, with one home game at the Fargodome, and were members of The Summit League. They finished the season 24–10, 12–4 in Summit League play to finish in third place. They advanced to the championship game of The Summit League tournament where they lost to South Dakota State. They were invited to the 2013 College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Western Michigan in overtime.

The Bison, led by seventh year head coach Saul Phillips, played their home games at the Bison Sports Arena and were members of The Summit League. They finished the season 26–7, 12–2 in The Summit League play to finish win The Summit League regular season championship. They were also champions of The Summit League tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. In the NCAA Tournament, they defeated Oklahoma in the second round before losing to San Diego State in the round of 32.

The 2014–15 Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team represented Ohio University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the first year for Saul Phillips as head coach for the program. The team played its home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 10–20, 5–13 in MAC play to finish in last place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC tournament to Western Michigan.

The Bison, led by fourth-year head coach David Richman, played their home games at the Scheels Center in Fargo, North Dakota as members of the Summit League. They finished the season 15–17, 5–9 in Summit League play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They defeated Fort Wayne in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament before losing in the semifinals to South Dakota State.

As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 16 seed in the East region. There the Bison lost to overall No. 1 seed Duke.
