The Pittsburgh Penguins are a team in the National Hockey League.
The current structure of the Penguins' farm system has been in place since 1999. The Penguins did not own a minor league team until 1999 when the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League were developed. [1]

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are the American Hockey League affiliate of the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins. They play at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania, just outside the city of Wilkes-Barre. They were the 2011 winners of the East Division and the Eastern Conference, winning their first Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy.
The Syracuse Crunch are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They play in Syracuse, New York, at the Upstate Medical University Arena at Onondaga County War Memorial. They are the primary development affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ryan F. Craig is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre and current assistant coach with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League. Prior to retirement, he was the captain of the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League (AHL). Craig was drafted 255th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Thomas George Kostopoulos is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He most notably played in the National Hockey League (NHL) before playing his career with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League (AHL). Kostopoulos was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, and the 2017–18 season was his 19th year as a professional hockey player.
Michael George Vellucci is a retired professional ice hockey player. He is currently the head coach and general manager of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League. Previously, he was the head coach and general manager of the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League for 14 seasons and head coach of the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League for two seasons.
David Thomas Gove was an American ice hockey player and head coach of the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. He last played with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2008–09 season. Though he primarily played in the minor leagues, Gove did appear in two games with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL) between 2005 and 2007.
John Clark Donatelli is an American former professional ice hockey player and is the former head coach of the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Donatelli was a long-time minor league player in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). He played 35 games in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Casey DeSmith is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He holds the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins record for most saves in a playoff game. DeSmith was named to the AHL's 2016–17 All-Rookie Team and was a co-recipient of the 2017 Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award.
Ben Sexton is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played with the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League (NHL). A centreman, he was selected by the Boston Bruins in the seventh round, 206th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Sexton is the son of one of the Ottawa Senators' founding partners, Randy Sexton.
