Fushigi Yûgi, also known as Fushigi Yûgi: The Mysterious Play or Curious Play, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuu Watase. It tells the story of two teenaged girls, Miaka and Yui, who are pulled into The Universe of the Four Gods, a mysterious book at the National Diet Library. It is based on the four mythological creatures of China. Shogakukan serialized Fushigi Yûgi in Shōjo Comic from December 1991 to May 1996 and later compiled the manga into eighteen tankōbon volumes.
Fushigi Yûgi: Genbu Kaiden is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuu Watase. A prequel to Watase's Fushigi Yûgi, it details the creation of The Universe of the Four Gods and tells the full story of the Priestess of Genbu. The manga was initially serialized in Shōjo Comic Zōkan beginning in 2003. It moved to Perfect World Fushigi Yûgi in 2004 and ran until the magazine's cancellation in 2008. Watase then placed the manga on hiatus for two years due to her health issues and other work commitments. Genbu Kaiden resumed serialization in Rinka in 2010. When Rinka folded in 2012, the manga moved once again to Zōkan Flowers, where it ended its serialization in 2013. Genbu Kaiden was collected in twelve tankōbon volumes published in Japan by Shogakukan. It is licensed for an English-language release in North America by Viz Media. In addition to the manga, Genbu Kaiden inspired five audio drama CDs produced by Marine Entertainment and an adventure video game created by Idea Factory.
Basara is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Yumi Tamura. The story takes place in a future Japan, reduced to a barren desert by a catastrophe at the end of the 21st century. The main character is Sarasa, a girl whose twin brother, Tatara, is prophesied to be the "child of destiny" who will bring back the country's independence and stop the tyrannical rule of the Empire, namely the Red King. When Tatara is killed, Sarasa pretends to be him in order to keep the downtrodden from losing hope.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de is a Japanese shōjo manga series written by Tohko Mizuno who also worked on the video game of the same name, which was developed by Ruby Party and published by Koei. The manga was serialized in LaLa DX magazine from July 1999 to January 2010, and published by Hakusensha in 17 volumes. An English version was licensed by Viz Media under the title Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time. The storyline initially follows the characters and events from the first installment of the video game series. An anime series titled Harukanaru Toki no Naka de ~Hachiyou Shou~ was developed by Yumeta Company with Aki Tsunaki directing, with 26 episodes broadcast from October 5, 2004, to March 29, 2005. The anime received an English dub titled Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time: A Tale of the Eight Guardians.

Suzaku Kururugi is a fictional character in the anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion produced by Sunrise, Inc. In the original Japanese dubbing, he is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai and his younger self is voiced by Akeno Watanabe. Suzaku Kururugi, born on July 10, 2000, a.t.b., is the son of Japan's last prime minister, Genbu Kururugi. His existence was kept secret from the public until after the war. Suzaku met Lelouch vi Britannia and his sister Nunnally vi Britannia when they moved to the Kururugi residence as a diplomatic peace trade. Initially, Suzaku thought Lelouch was a selfish prince and despised him. However, as time passed, he came to know Lelouch better, and they soon became best friends. They were separated when Britannia invaded Japan but were reunited in the Shinjuku Ghetto.

Wise Man's Grandchild is a Japanese light novel series written by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka and illustrated by Seiji Kikuchi. It began serialization online in January 2015 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. At the beginning of episode 311, in November 2022, it was announced that episode would be the last posted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was acquired by Enterbrain, which has published seventeen volumes since July 2015 under their Famitsu Bunko imprint.
Maryuu Senki, also known as Evil Dragon War Chronicles, is a Japanese OVA series which combines elements from Japanese folklore with dark fantasy. Produced by Bandai Visual and animated by AIC, it was released between 1987 and 1989 for three episodes. It was adapted into an unfinished manga series in 1991.
