Luna is a fictional character in the Sailor Moon media franchise. She is a black cat who has the ability to talk, and serves as a mentoring figure for the titular character and her companions, the Sailor Guardians. Luna makes her debut in the first act or episode of each version of the series, in which she meets Usagi Tsukino and tells her she is Sailor Moon, and gives her a brooch that allows her to transform. Luna features prominently in the first story arc, and although she becomes a supporting character for the rest of the series, she keeps providing the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask with advice, her family relationships are explored alongside her partner Artemis and their daughter from the future Diana, and she even manages to transform into a human being at key points of the series.

Casi Ángeles is considered one of the most successful Telenovelas in Argentinian television history. Also due to the success of the show, the pop band Teen Angels emerged, composed of Juan Pedro Lanzani, Mariana Espósito, Gastón Dalmau, Nicolás Riera, María Eugenia Suárez. In 2011, Rocío Igarzábal, who was a member of the main cast of the telenovela and had participated in several songs, replaced Suárez.

The first episode of Soy Luna premiered with over 2.3 million views in Argentina alone. Developed by Disney Channel Latin America and produced by Disney Channel Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the series stars Karol Sevilla along with Ruggero Pasquarelli, Valentina Zenere and Michael Ronda. Soy Luna is the second original production of Disney Channel Latin America after Violetta. The supporting cast features Agustín Bernasconi, Malena Ratner, Katja Martínez, Jorge López, Ana Jara, Chiara Parravicini, Gastón Vietto, Lionel Ferro, Carolina Kopelioff, Lucila Gandolfo, Rodrigo Pedreira, Ana Carolina Valsagna, David Murí, Ezequiel Rodríguez and Caro Ibarra. Estela Ribeiro, Roberto Carnaghi, Giovanna Reynaud, Pasquale Di Nuzzo, Jandino, Victoria Suárez Battan and Joaquín Berthold joined the main cast in later seasons. Luz Cipriota, Diego Alcalá, Germán Tripel, Antonella Querzoli and Paula Kohan used to also star on the show, but their characters were written off, whilst Bernasconi and Ferro left the series during the final season.

Each episode consists of two 11-minute story segments, with a short segment of one of the characters telling a folktale, song or poem from that country in between.
