Alexandra Konstantinovna Kosteniuk is a Russian and Swiss chess grandmaster who was the Women's World Chess Champion from 2008 to 2010 and Women's World Rapid Chess Champion in 2021. She was European women's champion in 2004 and a two-time Russian Women's Chess Champion. Kosteniuk won the team gold medal playing for Russia at the Women's Chess Olympiads of 2010, 2012 and 2014; the Women's World Team Chess Championship of 2017; and the Women's European Team Chess Championships of 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017; and the Women's Chess World Cup 2021. In 2022, due to sanctions imposed on Russian players after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she switched federations, and as of March 2023 she represents Switzerland.

The Thailand women's national rugby union team played their first test match against Kazakhstan in 2005.

The Zambia women's national rugby union team are a national sporting side of Zambia, representing them at rugby union. The side first played in 2007.

The women's Elgon Cup was an annual competition held between the national rugby union teams of Kenya and Uganda. It ran parallel with the men's Elgon Cup, which has been running since 2004. The cup was competed for over two legs - one in each country. Home matches for Kenya were usually played at the RFUEA Ground, Nairobi, Kenya, whilst Uganda usually played their home matches at the Kyadondo Grounds, Kampala, Uganda.

The first tier of intercollegiate sports in the United States includes sports that are sanctioned by one of the collegiate sport governing bodies. The Laos women's national rugby union team is a national sporting side that represents Thailand in women's rugby union. They first played international sevens rugby in 2007 at the South East Asia sevens, where they finished third. They then played a ten-a-side international against Cambodia in 2009, and in 2010 they won a non-test match developmental tournament involving Thailand and the Philippines. Team Paradise are a senior-level synchronized skating team representing Russia. Currently, they are ranked first in the world by the International Skating Union. They are three-times World Champions, they claimed the 2015 World Championships bronze medals, and they are the 1999-2017 Russian National Champions.

Qualifying for the 2019 Rugby World Cup for European Rugby began in September 2016, where 5 teams are competing for one direct qualification spot into the final tournament, and a further 26 teams competing, alongside the initial 5 teams, for a place in the Europe/Oceania play-off and or repechage.

The 2022 Rugby Africa Women's Cup is the second edition of the Rugby Africa Women's Cup following the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 editions due to COVID-19 related restrictions. The 12 teams are split in 4 pools that play a single round-robin where the winners classify to the second phase of the tournament. Pool A was played in June 2022 due to South Africa participation on the 2021 World Cup. The schedule for the other pools was announced by Rugby Africa on October 10, 2022.

The 2022–23 Rugby Europe Women's Trophy is the 22nd edition of Rugby Europe's second division competition for women's national rugby union teams. The winner of the tournament will be promoted to the 2024 Championship.

The 2023 Rugby Europe Women's Championship was the 26th edition of Rugby Europe's first division competition for women's national rugby union teams. It was celebrated in February 2023, and the winner will classified to the first edition of WXV.

The Senegal women's national rugby union team are a national sports team that represents Senegal in women's international rugby union. They played their first test match against Tunisia in 2021.

The Madagascar women's national rugby union team are a national sports team that represents Madagascar in women's international rugby union. They made their test debut against Kenya in 2019.
