He was the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for the USC Trojans from 2016 to 2018 and was the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers during their 1998 national championship season, and also played in the National Football League and Canadian Football League. He was one of the 6 quarterbacks selected before Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft when he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round.

Derek Dooley (American football) American football coach

Derek Dooley is an American football coach and former player who is currently the Senior Offensive Assistant for the New York Giants. He was last the offensive coordinator of Mizzou In his first season as coordinator, Dooley's offense scored the second most points in Mizzou history in a 13-game season.

Jonathan David Crompton is a quarterbacks coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a former American football quarterback having briefly been a member of the New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Washington Redskins after being drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In addition, Crompton played for the Edmonton Eskimos and Montreal Alouettes of the CFL. He played college football at the University of Tennessee.

Jones served as the head football coach at Central Michigan from 2007 to 2009, Cincinnati from 2010 to 2012, and Tennessee from 2013 to 2017. A Michigan native, he played college football at Ferris State University as a running back and wide receiver.

Zora G. Clevenger served his second season as head coach of the Volunteers.

The 1992 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 1992 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Volunteers were a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), in the Eastern Division and played their home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. They finished the season with a record of nine wins and three and with a victory over Boston College in the Hall of Fame Bowl. The Volunteers offense scored 347 points while the defense allowed 196 points.

The 2005 Tennessee Volunteers represented the University of Tennessee in the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. Playing as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Eastern Division, the team was led by head coach Phillip Fulmer, in his thirteenth full year, and played their home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. They finished the season with a record of five wins and six losses, and failed to qualify for a bowl game for the first time during Fulmer's tenure as head coach and the first time overall since 1988.

The 1941 Tennessee Volunteers football team, also known as the Vols, was an American football team that represented the University of Tennessee as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the 1941 college football season. In their first season under head coach John Barnhill, the Volunteers compiled an 8–2 record, finished second in the SEC, and outscored opponents by a total of 182 to 73/ The team played its home games at Shields–Watkins Field in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The 2013 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Volunteers played their home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee and competes in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team was coached by Butch Jones, who was in his inaugural season with UT. Jones was hired on December 7, 2012 to replace Derek Dooley who was fired on November 18, 2012 after an embarrassing loss to Vanderbilt. On August 31, 2013, UT earned its 800th victory in program history against Austin Peay and became only the eighth school in the nation to reach that plateau after Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Alabama.

Jeremy Pruitt American football coach

Jeremy Pruitt is the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers football team. He previously served as the defensive coordinator at Alabama (2016–2017), Georgia (2014–2015), and Florida State (2013). As a defensive coordinator, Pruitt's defenses frequently ranked in the top ten nationally in total defense and related categories. Pruitt worked for Alabama as Director of Player Development (2007–2009) before becoming the Crimson Tide's defensive backs coach in 2010. Prior to joining the college ranks, he served as an assistant coach at the high school level. Pruitt was a 2013 finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach, and was again a finalist in 2016. He played college football at Middle Tennessee and Alabama.

Justin Scott Worley is a former American football quarterback. Worley played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Evan Lawrence Berry is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers football team. While primarily a safety, he was selected to All-America team as a return specialist in 2015. He is the younger brother of former Tennessee Volunteers and current NFL safety Eric Berry, and his twin brother, Elliott, also played at Tennessee.

2017 Tennessee Volunteers football team American college football season

The 2017 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Volunteers played their home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee and competed in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by fifth-year head coach Butch Jones until his firing on November 12. Brady Hoke was named the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
