Ukrainian literature is literature written in the Ukrainian language.
The Dovzhenko Film Studios is a former Soviet film production studio in Ukraine that was named after the Soviet film producer, Oleksandr Dovzhenko, in 1957. With the fall of the Soviet Union, the studio became a property of the government of Ukraine. In 2000, the film studio was awarded national status.
FC Borysfen Boryspil is a formerly professional Ukrainian football club from Boryspil, Ukraine. The club was created as a phoenix club in 1997 by Ihor Kovalevych after disagreement in FC CSKA Kyiv. The history of the club is controversial and its admission to professional competitions is dubious. In mid 1990s the original team of Zlobenko reached some agreement with the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after which there was established a joint team "CSKA-Borysfen" that became the first successful debutant of the Ukrainian Vyshcha Liha finishing among top 5 at the end of season. Following that season the newly created Professional Football League for unknown reason decided to dissolve the joint venture and recognize ownership of the club after company "Kyiv-Donbass" that was associated with the Ministry of Defense.
FC Nyva Ternopil is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Ternopil, the administrative center of Ternopil Oblast. As of the 2020–21 season, it played in the Ukrainian First League, the second tier of Ukrainian football, following promotion from the 2019–20 Ukrainian Second League. Originally the club was formed as Nyva Pidhaitsi in the small town Pidhaitsi in 1978, then moved to a district centre Berezhany changing its name to Nyva Berezhany in 1982, and finally moved to Ternopil becoming Nyva Ternopil in 1985. In 2016 the club withdrew from the professional competitions and was reestablished as PFC Nyva Ternopil.
Ukrainian cinema comprises the art of film and creative movies made within the nation of Ukraine and also by Ukrainian film makers abroad.
Ukraine first participated at the Olympic Games as an independent nation in 1994, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games and Winter Olympic Games since then. The first athlete who won the gold medal for the yellow-blues was Oksana Baiul. However for the first time the Ukrainian national flag and the Ukrainian state anthem sounded in 1992 when Oleg Kutscherenko from Luhansk Oblast won his gold medal in Barcelona as part of the so called "Unified Team".
General of the Army of Ukraine was a general officer and was the highest possible rank in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. General of army of Ukraine ranks immediately above a colonel general and has no equivalent naval rank. The rank was also given to general of interior service or civil defense of Ukraine.
Serhiy Mykhalchuk is a Ukrainian cinematographer. He graduated in 1994 from the Kyiv Theater Institute of Karpenko-Karyj. In addition to film work, Mykhalchuk has also produced documentaries and television feature films, music videos, and advertising features.
FC Cherkashchyna was a professional Ukrainian football club from the city of Cherkasy. The club's home ground was Central Stadium which was refurbished in 2003 and has a capacity of 10,321.
The Antonovych Prize is an annual award of US$10,000 given by the Omelian and Tetiana Antonovych Foundation, since 1981 for literary works written in Ukrainian and for research in Ukrainian studies. Institutions, individuals, and members of the prize jury can make nominations, but only the jury decides the winners. Laureates are asked to give a speech at an award ceremony.
FC Dinaz Vyshhorod is a Ukrainian professional club from Vyshhorod which plays in Ukrainian First League. Prior to entering professional football, the club was competing in the regional competitions of Kyiv Oblast and Ukrainian amateur competitions.
The State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology is an annual award given by the President of Ukraine for accomplishments in science and technology. It is given for one of four categories: outstanding scientific research in the humanities, social, or natural sciences; development of new equipment, technologies, or methods of disease prevention; the solution of environment problems or invention of new environmental conservation techniques; or textbooks or new vocational techniques. It is the highest award given by The Government of Ukraine for accomplishments in science and technology. Recipients are called Laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology.
Ukrainian cinema of the Independence era is characterized by the collapse of the film industry in the 1990s and attempts to rebuild it in the 2000s and 2010s since the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine after the independence referendum of 1991. Although the centralized film industry was in decline, independent film studios, distribution companies and a network of cinemas were developing. In the 2010s, the number of short films in Ukraine was growing rapidly due to the development of digital technologies and reduced production costs. Although the film industry was making losses at that time, a number of Ukrainian films were successful at international film festivals.
