This article lists documented tornado occurrences in Vietnam. Tornadoes in Vietnam are generally less studied than those in regions such as North America, but they are known to form during strong thunderstorms, tropical depressions, and typhoons.

Climatology and background

A tornado, also known as lốc xoáy or vòi rồng in Vietnamese, is a violently rotating column of air that descends to the ground. The earliest recorded tornado in Vietnam occurred in Nghệ An, 1965. Tornadoes in Vietnam are not rated on any scale.
