The archdeacons in the Church of Ireland are senior Anglican clergy who serve under their dioceses' bishops, usually with responsibility for the area's church buildings and pastoral care for clergy. [1]

      Richard Woodward was an English Protestant cleric, active in Ireland during the 18th century. Educated at the University of Oxford, he moved to Ireland and would become the author of a vigorous defence of the Protestant Ascendancy in Ireland. Woodward was made an Anglican Bishop of Cloyne in the Church of Ireland.

      The United Dioceses of Cashel and Ossory is a diocese of the Church of Ireland in the south-eastern part of Ireland that was formed from a merger of older dioceses in 1977. The diocese is in the ecclesiastical province of Dublin.

      The Dean of Kilmore is based at the Cathedral Church of St Fethlimidh in Kilmore in the Diocese of Kilmore within the united bishopric of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh. Prior to the 1841 amalgamation the cathedral was in the bishopric of Kilmore and Ardagh.

      The Dean of Cashel is the head of the Chapter of the Cathedral Church of St John the Baptist and St Patrick's Rock, Cashel, one of the Church of Ireland cathedrals of the united Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.

      The Dean of Kilkenny or Dean of Ossory is based at The Cathedral Church of St Canice, Kilkenny in the united Diocese of Cashel and Ossory within the Church of Ireland.

      The Dean of Ferns is based at The Cathedral Church of St Edan, Ferns in the united Diocese of Cashel and Ossory within the Church of Ireland.

      The Dean of Armagh in the Church of Ireland is the dean of the Anglican St Patrick's Cathedral, the cathedral of the Diocese of Armagh and the metropolitan cathedral of the Province of Armagh, located in the town of Armagh.

      <span class="mw-page-title-main">Dean of Connor</span>

      The Dean of Connor is based at Christ Church Cathedral, Lisburn in the Diocese of Connor within the Church of Ireland. The chapter is however known as the Chapter of St Saviours, Connor after the previous cathedral church in Connor.

      The Dean of Emly was based at The Cathedral Church of St Alibeus, Emly in the former Diocese of Emly within the Church of Ireland. St Alibeus' cathedral was demolished in 1877.

      Dr. Patrick Sheridan was the Church of Ireland Bishop of Cloyne between 1679 and 1682.

      <span class="mw-page-title-main">Archdeacon of Ardagh</span>

      The Archdeacon of Ardagh was a senior ecclesiastical officer within the Anglican Diocese of Ardagh. As such he was responsible for the disciplinary supervision of the clergy within the Diocese.
