This sector develops on the northern coastal area of Dubai, on the north bank of Dubai Creek. It corresponds to the historic district of Deira and its artificial island. With a population of approximately 494,000 residents on an area of just under 125 km2, it is the most densely populated sector (density of approximately 3,950 inhabitants/km2).

This sector develops in the northern area of Dubai, on the border with the Emirate of Sharjah. Within its territory are some of Dubai's most populous neighborhoods and communities, including Muhaisnah, Mirdif, Al Nahda and Al Qusais. Dubai International Airport and Mushrif Public Park are also located in the sector.

West - Sector 3

This sector develops along the central coastal area of Dubai, and on the southern bank of Dubai Creek and includes the localities of Bur Dubai, Jumeirah, and their immediate hinterland. It therefore includes the neighborhoods of Zabeel, the Financial District of Dubai made up of Trade Center 1 and Trade Center 2, and Downtown Dubai. Along the coast it includes the port area of Al Mina with Port Rashid to the north, and the new residential district of Dubai Marina to the south. All the artificial islands in front of the relevant section of coast are also part of the sector. It is the most populous sector of Dubai with a presence of over 1,200,000 residents (2021 data).

This sector develops in the central-northern area of Dubai. It includes the Ras Al Khor area with its protected nature reserve and the territories east of that area. The new districts of Dubai Festival City and Dubai Creek Harbor and the areas behind them of Nad Al Hammar, Al Warqaa and Wadi Alshabak therefore fall within it. It is the smallest of Dubai's sectors with an area of just 61.8 km2.

Southwest - Sector 5

This sector develops along the southern coastal area of Dubai, from Marsa Dubai in the north, to the border with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the south. It includes the vast area of Jabal Ali with its port and its industrial zone, the artificial island of Palm Jebel Ali and the building Al Wajeha Al Bahriah (Dubai Waterfront), as well as the residential area of Dubai Investment Park and the development of Madinat Al Mataar, also called Dubai South, which hosted Expo 2020 and is home to the new Al Maktoum International Airport.

Central - Sector 6

Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 1.

This sector is located in the central area of the Emirate of Dubai. It is bordered, in broad terms, by Emirates Road (E 611) to the east, by Al Yalayis Street (D 57) to the south, by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E 311) and Al Khail Road (E 44) then, to the west and from Ras Al Khor Road (E 44) to the north. It includes, among other things: the vast industrial area of Ras Al Khor, the residential areas of Nad Al Sheba and Wadi Al Safa, with the Al Warsan area containing the residential complex of Dubai International City. The largest community in the sector is Hadaeq Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid (literally "Gardens of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid") which is also known as Mohammed Bin Rashid City, which contains prestigious residential complexes and luxury villas.

Northeast - Sector 7

This sector is located in the north-eastern part of the Emirate of Dubai and is bordered to the north and east by the Emirate of Sharjah. The external border is marked to the north by the Maleha Road and to the east by the Nazwa Road, while the internal borders with the other sectors are marked to the north-west by the Emirates Road, and to the south-west by the Al Awir Road (E 44) which however in that stretch is called Dubai-Hatta Road.

The Sector is part of the Dubai Non-Urban Area and contains sparsely populated communities, such as Al Awir, Lehbab, Al Meryal and Nazwah, and mostly desert and virtually uninhabited areas such as Al Wohoosh and Enkhali. For these reasons the sector is the least populated with a presence of just over 15,000 residents (2021 data).

East - Sector 8

This sector is located in the central-eastern area of the Emirate of Dubai and borders to the east with the Emirate of Sharjah and to the south with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The external border to the east and south coincides with the similar borders of the Desert Conservation Reserve of Dubai, which occupies much of the southern surface of the Sector. The Sector also includes the community of Hatta which constitutes an exclave of Dubai located in the Ḥajar Mountains. The land is part of the Dubai Non-Urban Area

South - Sector 9

This sector is located in the central and southern area of the Emirate of Dubai of which it occupies a large part. It is bordered to the south and west by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The territory is part of the Dubai Non-Urban Area consisting largely of desert territories, aquifer areas, gas extraction areas, conservation areas and agricultural settlements. Within it is the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, which is the largest reserve in the Emirates, with its famous Qudra Lakes. The Sector is the largest of Dubai's sectors with a surface area of approximately 1,664 km2, but the least densely populated, with fewer than 18,000 residents (density of approximately 10.8 inhabitants/km2).

The Emirate of Sharjah is one of the emirates of the United Arab Emirates, which covers 2,590 square kilometres (1,000 sq mi) and has a population of over 1,400,000 (2015). It comprises the capital city of Sharjah, after which it is named, and other minor towns and exclaves such as Kalba', Al Dhaid, Dibba Al-Hisn and Khor Fakkan.

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is the northernmost of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. The city of Ras Al Khaimah, abbreviated to RAK or RAK City, is the capital of the emirate and home to most of the emirate's residents. It is linked to the Islamic trading port of Julfar. Its name in English means "headland of the tent". The emirate borders Oman's exclave of Musandam, and occupies part of the same peninsula. It covers an area of 2,486 km2 (960 sq mi) and has 64 km (40 mi) of beach coastline. As of 2023, the emirate had a population of about 400,000.

E 11 is a highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from the Al Batha border crossing at the Saudi Arabia–UAE border in al-Silah in the al-Dhafra region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends at the Oman–UAE border crossing of al-Darah in al-Jeer, Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, running roughly parallel to UAE's coastline along the Persian Gulf. The road forms the main artery in some emirates' main cities, where it assumes various alternate names —Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Al Ittihad Road in Sharjah Emirate and Ajman Emirate, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road in Ras al-Khaimah.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">E 311 road (United Arab Emirates)</span> Road in the United Arab Emirates

E 311 is a major road in the United Arab Emirates. It begins in New Al Falah in Abu Dhabi and extends north-eastward towards the Ras al-Khaimah emirate. E 311 has been called Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road since January 2013 and is commonly known as SMBZ Road. Prior to that it was called Emirates Road, but that name is now given to E 611, which was previously Dubai Bypass Road.

Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi (1781–1866) was the Sheikh of the Qawasim and ruled the towns of Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Jazirah Al Hamra and Rams; all within the then Trucial States and now part of the United Arab Emirates. Briefly a dependent of the first Saudi Kingdom, his rule over Ras Al Khaimah ran from 1803–1809, when he was deposed by order of the Saudi Amir and restored in 1820, going on to rule until his death in 1866 at the age of 85. He was Ruler of Sharjah from 1814–1866, with a brief disruption to that rule in 1840 by his elder son Saqr. He was a signatory to various treaties with the British, starting with the General Maritime Treaty of 1820 and culminating in the Perpetual Maritime Truce of 1853.

E 66 is a road in the United Arab Emirates. The road connects the city of Dubai to the interior city of Al Ain in the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. E 66 runs roughly perpendicular to E 11 and E 311. Beginning in the locality of Oud Metha, E 11 progresses southward towards the interior. The road is referred to as the "Dubai-Al Ain Road", after its intersection with Emirates Road south of the city of Dubai, and "Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan Road", after Sheikh Tahnoun, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi.

While being a major oil producing country, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken steps to introduce solar power on a large scale. However, solar power still accounts for a small share of energy production in the country. The country was the 6th top carbon dioxide emitter per capita in the world in 2009, with 40.31 tonnes, but is planning to generate half of its electrical energy by 2050 from solar and nuclear sources, targeting 44% renewables, 38% gas, 12% coal, and 6% nuclear energy sources.
