This is a list of Malayalam movies made by the Indian director Lal Jose featuring the Indian music composer Vidyasagar.

History

Lal Jose began his career by assisting noted director Kamal. Vidyasagar's first Malayalam film Azhakiya Ravanan was directed by Kamal. Lal Jose was also the assistant director of the film.

In 1998, he made his debut as an independent director with Oru Maravathoor Kanavu , which starred Mammootty and was scripted by Sreenivasan. Lal Jose asked Vidyasagar to compose for his film. [1] The huge success Oru Maravathoor Kanavu earned him a positive reputation. [2] The songs became very popular. Vidyasagar made a Christian devotional song Karunamayane in the movie, it was well appreciated by the audience and critics.

In 1999, his second directorial venture Chandranudikkunna Dikhil was released. The songs of the film was regarded as the best songs of Malayalam cinema in that year. Lal Jose worked with Vidyasagar for his first seven films continuously. all those films and songs were successful. Vidyasagar has won several awards for his compositions.

Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha is a 2009 Indian Malayalam-language mystery film written and directed by Ranjith, starring Mammootty, Shwetha Menon and Mythili. It is based on the novel of the same name by T. P. Rajeevan, which said the true story of the first recorded murder case in Kerala. Mammooty plays three characters in the film. The film was Mythili's debut in cinema. Ranjith also introduced about thirty Malayalam stage artists through this film. The film tells the story of a private detective, who returns to his birthplace, a village called Paleri, to solve a murder mystery that occurred on the same night he was born. Upon the release of the movie, it got an 'A' certificate due to its violent and adult content.

<i>Best Actor</i> (film) 2010 Indian film

Best Actor is a 2010 Malayalam-language comedy drama film co-written and directed by Martin Prakkat. It stars Mammootty, Sruthi Ramakrishnan, Nedumudi Venu, Lal, Salim Kumar, Vinayakan, Master Vivas, Sreenivasan, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Master Sreedharan Nampoothiri and Sukumari. The film marks the debut of Prakatt as director. It was produced by Naushad under the banner of Big Screen. Several film directors made cameo appearances in the film. The film is all about the travails of a schoolteacher who dreams of being a film actor. It features cinematography by Ajayan Vincent, music by Bijibal and editing by Don Max.

The 13th Asianet Film Awards honors the best films in 2010 and was held on 9 January 2011 at Willingdon Island in Kochi. The winners were announced on 1 January 2011. The title sponsor of the event is Ujala.

Produced by Lal Jose through the production house LJ Films, the film stars Joju George, Darshana S Nair and Vincy Aloshious along with debutants Shambhu Menon and Addis Antony Akkara. Vidyasagar composed the film's music, and the cinematography was handled by Ajmal Sabu.
