It lists every Capeverdean association football club to have won any of the major domestic trophies, the Cape Verdean Football Championships, the Cape Verdean Cup and the Cape Verdean Super Cup.

Cape Verde is one of a very few countries in which a regional winner competes at the national championship and stays for a season except for the champion. It is one of a very few countries that uses the points system at the national level and now has only 6 rounds per group and the knockout phase.

Associação Académica do Mindelo is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 5,000. The club is an affiliate of the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra. It is one of the first teams ever to win a provincial title before independence, in 1953, a year later. There was no further competition until 1956. Académica won their first title since independence in 1989. The Santo Antão Island League (South) is a regional championship played in Porto Novo, Santo Antão Island, Cape Verde.
