The 1992–93 season was the 113th season of competitive football in England. The season saw the Premier League in its first season, replacing Division One of the Football League as the top league in England. Every team in the Premier League played each other twice within the season, one game away and one at home, and were awarded three points for a win and one for a draw.

The 1973–74 season was the 94th season of competitive football in England. Leeds United became league champions for the second time, finishing five points ahead of runners-up Liverpool in the First Division. Middlesbrough, Oldham Athletic and Peterborough United won the Second, Third and Fourth Divisions, respectively. They beat Chelsea 3–2 in a penalty shootout after a 2–2 draw in the final at Ashton Gate.

The 2013–14 FA Women's Cup is the 43rd season of the FA Women's Cup, the main domestic knockout Cup competition in English women's football. Arsenal are the defending champions and the final will be played at Stadium mk.

The 2016–17 EFL Cup was the 57th season of the EFL Cup, formerly known as the Football League Cup, featuring all 92 clubs from the Premier League and the English Football League (EFL). The cup did not have a sponsor following the withdrawal of sponsorship from Capital One after four years as the Capital One Cup, but was renamed the EFL Cup after the Football League was rebranded as the English Football League.

The 1979–80 season was Nottingham Forest's 115th year in existence and third campaign consecutive in the First Division.
