This list of mayors Badalona starts in 1835, [1] [2] after the reform of the ayuntamientos by the central government, during the regency of Maria Christina of the Two Sicilies. Currently the mayor is the head of the government and the municipal administration. It has several functions, including representing the city council in all the officials acts, summons and chairs the plenary sessions and the local government council. [3]

Badalona is a municipality in Barcelonès county, in Catalonia (Spain). It is located to the north east of Barcelona, on the left bank of the Besòs River and on the Mediterranean Sea, in the Barcelona metropolitan area. By population, it is the third largest city in Catalonia and the twenty-third in Spain. It became a city in 1897.
Avinguda Diagonal is the name of one of Barcelona's broadest and most important avenues. It cuts the city in two, diagonally with respect to the grid pattern of the surrounding streets, hence the name.

The Ramon Llull Novel Award is an honor given annually to a novel originally written in Catalan. Conceived in 1981 by editor José Manuel Lara Hernández, it is awarded by the Planeta publishing house in conjunction with the Government of Andorra. It confers a monetary prize, originally 250,000 pesetas and now €60,000. It recognizes works of the greatest economic value in the Catalan language.

Maria Dolors Sabater Puig is a Catalan teacher, social activist and politician from Spain. She was mayor of Badalona from 2015 to 2018, and elected to the Parliament of Catalonia in 2021.
Alejandro Pastor López is a former Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC) politician. First elected to Badalona City Council in 2015, he became mayor in 2018. He resigned on 22 April 2020 after being arrested and eventually convicted of drink driving and assaulting the police.

The Carles Riba Poetry Prize is a literary prize for Catalan-language works awarded by the Edicions Proa publishing house with funding by the Catalan Encyclopedia Foundation. The winning poem is selected from original, unpublished poems during the Literary Night of Saint Lucía, organized by the Òmnium Cultural association. It has an endowment of €5,000.
