General elections were held in the Netherlands on 17 June 1913, with a second round in some constituencies on 25 June. Despite receiving the fourth highest number of votes in the first round, the General League of Roman Catholic Caucuses emerged as the largest party, winning 25 of the 100 seats in the House of Representatives. After the election, the independent liberal Pieter Cort van der Linden became Prime Minister of the Netherlands, leading a cabinet of Liberals, Free-thinking Democrats, Christian Historicals and other independent liberals.
An election for Members of the European Parliament representing Netherlands constituency for the 1979–1984 term of the European Parliament was held on 7 June 1979. It was part of the wider 1979 European election.
Freddy Thielemans was a Belgian socialist politician who was the mayor of the City of Brussels from 2001 to 2013, and previously also for a period in 1994.
Abraham "Bram" Peper was a Dutch politician of the Labour Party (PvdA).
Heiko "Ko" Wierenga was a Dutch politician and member of the Labour Party (PvdA). He served as the Mayor of the municipality of Enschede from September 1977 until April 1994. Under Wierenga, artwork by Joop Hekman, called Het ei van Ko, was installed near Enschede's town hall in 1984.
Ernst Carel Bakker was a Dutch politician, alderman and member of the Democrats 66 political party. He served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1981 to 1982. He joined the Amsterdam City Council in 1990 before becoming a city alderman beginning in 1992. Bakker relocated to Hilversum in 1998 to become Mayor, a position he held until his retirement in 2011.
Louis Josephus Maria van de Laar was a Dutch politician of the defunct Catholic People's Party (KVP) now merged into the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) and historian.

Maartje Lena "Marleen" de Pater-van der Meer was a Dutch politician, she served as member of the House of Representatives for the Christian Democratic Appeal between 2001 and 2010. Before her time in the House she was active in the municipal politics of Zutphen. After her period as MP she was interim mayor of Muiden until her death.
Theodorus Josephus Maria "Theo" Hendriks was a Dutch politician, he served as member of the House of Representatives between 1994 and 1998. Although elected for the General Elderly Alliance he was soon expelled from the party. Hendriks retained his seat and continued as an independent.
Henricus Antonius Cornelis Marie "Harrij" Notenboom was a Dutch politician. He served as member of the House of Representatives from 1963 to 1979 and in the European Parliament from 1971 to 1984. Notenboom was a member of the Catholic People's Party and later the Christian Democratic Appeal when the former had merged into it in 1980.
Jan Reijnen was a Dutch politician of the Catholic People's Party and later the Christian Democratic Appeal. He was mayor of Wervershoof (1964–1969), Oldenzaal (1969–1976) and Heerlen (1976–1986). He was a member of the Senate from 16 May 1972 until 20 September 1977.
Marianne Burgman was a Dutch politician. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, she served as Mayor of Maarn, Bunnik, and De Ronde Venen.
Adrianus Josephus Elisabeth Havermans was a Dutch politician. A member of the Catholic People's Party and later the Christian Democratic Appeal, he served as Mayor of The Hague from 1985 to 1996. He died in The Hague on 8 March 2022, at the age of 87.
