Although the population has declined in recent decades, Pittsfield remains the third largest municipality in Western Massachusetts, behind only Springfield and Chicopee.

Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center Transit facility in Massachusetts, US

The Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center is a transit facility located in downtown Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The $11 million facility is named after Joseph Scelsi, a longtime State Representative who represented Pittsfield. Owned by the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA), it is serviced by local BRTA bus services, Amtrak intercity rail service, and Peter Pan intercity bus service. The second floor of the building houses two classrooms used by Berkshire Community College and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Berkshire Community College is a public community college in Berkshire County, Massachusetts with its primary campus in Pittsfield. It also has a satellite campus in Great Barrington and classroom spaces in the city of Pittsfield. Established in the 1960s, it is the oldest college founded by the Massachusetts Community Colleges Executive Office.

Walter Foxcroft Hawkins was an American attorney and local political figure who, from 1896 to 1897, served as mayor of Pittsfield, the largest city and county seat of Massachusetts' Berkshire County.

The 1808 and 1809 United States Senate elections were elections that had the Federalist Party gain one seat in the United States Senate, and which coincided with the 1808 presidential election. The Federalists had gone into the elections with such a small share of Senate seats that even if they had won every election, they would have still remained a minority caucus.

Taconic Vocational High School is a vocational high school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States. Taconic was built in 1968 and opened in 1969, which serves as a high school of choice for students in Pittsfield. The school's primary focus is on vocational training and it offers such courses as auto mechanics, printing, drafting, electronics, carpentry, and others. In May 2016, J. H. Maxymillian Inc. broke ground on a $120.8 million plan to construct a new Taconic High School at the same location. The new building was completed in time for the start of the 2018 school year and the old school was demolished upon completion of the new one. An expanded parking lot and soccer field were built where the old school stood in 2019. The new building covers 246,520 square feet. Along with Pittsfield High School, it is one of two high schools in the Pittsfield Public School system.

2022 Massachusetts gubernatorial election Election for Governor of Massachusetts

The 2022 Massachusetts gubernatorial election will take place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Massachusetts. As Massachusetts does not have gubernatorial term limits, incumbent Republican Governor Charlie Baker was eligible to run for re-election. However, in a joint press statement with Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito released on December 1, 2021, Baker announced he would not seek a third term while Polito announced she also would not seek re-election nor would she run to succeed him. The filing deadline was May 3, 2022 and the primaries are scheduled for September 6, 2022.
