Elections for 7th Provincial assembly of Sindh were held on 28 February 1985, following the general elections on 25 February, along with the provincial elections of Punjab, Balochistan & N.W.F.P under the Military rule of General Zia-ul-Haq. [1]

The Parliament of Pakistan is the federal and supreme legislative body of Pakistan. It is a bicameral federal legislature that consists of the Senate as the upper house and the National Assembly as the lower house. According to the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the President of Pakistan is also a component of the Parliament. The National Assembly is elected for a five-year term on the basis of adult franchise and one-man one-vote. The tenure of a Member of the National Assembly is for the duration of the house, or sooner, in case the Member dies or resigns. The tenure of the National Assembly also comes to an end if dissolved on the advice of the Prime Minister or by the president in his discretion under the Constitution.
The Pakistan Muslim League (F) is a nationalist and pro-Hurs clan political party in Pakistan. It is one of the Pakistan Muslim Leagues. The letter 'F' in its name stands for functional. It is primarily associated with the Sindhi religious leader Pir Pagara. It was formed in 1985 when the Pakistani establishment decided to make Muhammad Khan Junejo the president of united PML. In response, Pir Pagara Syed Shah Mardan Shah-II parted ways with the mother league and formed his own party.
Mumtaz Ali Khan Bhutto, was a Pakistani politician who served as 8th Governor of Sindh and later the 13th Chief Minister of Sindh. He was also the first cousin of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who was the Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1973 to 1977.
Provincial Assembly of Sindh is a unicameral house of elected representatives of people of Sindh established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Under this article, the total number of seats for the Assembly through direct vote is 168, of which 29 seats are reserved for women and 9 seats for non-Muslims.

Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, was the 20th Governor of Balochistan Province since 28 February 2008 to 9 June 2013 as well as the chief executive of Balochistan since 14 January 2013. He is the Nawab and Tumandar of the Magsi Tribe, a former Governor and a former Chief Executive of Balochistan, a senior politician and the former Chief Minister of Balochistan province in the Benazir Bhutto government of 1993–1996. Nawab was appointed as the Chief Executive of Balochistan on 13 January 2013 after the sacking of Aslam Raisani's unpopular government and imposition of Governor's Rule. It was the main after effect of the January 2013 Pakistan bombings. Nawab Magsi did his schooling from Aitchison College, Lahore. He first came to politics in 1977, when he won as an independent candidate seat from his native constituency in the provincial assembly. However, his family was involved in Balochistan politics before Pakistani independence. He served in many provincial ministries and also worked in the Home Ministry in the 1990s. In 1993, his coalition won majority of seats and he became Chief Minister of Balochistan.
Nabil Gabol is a Pakistani politician who was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 to 2015 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996. He served as Minister of State for Ports and Shipping from 2008 to 2011 and as Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly from 1993 to 1996. Additionally, he’s the incumbent Chief Sardar (Nawab) of the Gabol, baloch tribe.
Azra Fazal Pechuho is a Pakistani politician who is the current Provincial Minister of Sindh for Health, and Population Welfare, in office since 19 August 2018. She has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since August 2018. She was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from 2002 to May 2018.
Abdul Jalil Memon (born in Karachi, Pakistan September 21, 1970, from 28 December 2009 was an Agriculturist by profession and an active politician from the District of Thatta, Province of Sindh, Pakistan. Him and his family have strong affiliations with the Pakistan Peoples Party. He also remained as the General Secretary of the PPP in district Thatta. In 2001 local government elections, he was elected as Nazim, Union Council II, Thatta. He was elected as a Member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh on PPP's platform in the General Elections held on February 18, 2008. He was later chosen as a member of Sindh Cabinet with the portfolio of Minister for Cooperatives.
Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar ; 12 January 1967 – 21 May 2019) was a Pakistani politician who served as the 25th Chief Minister of Sindh from 2002 to 2004 and then as the Federal Minister for Narcotics Control between 2018 and 2019.
Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari is a Pakistani politician and senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement. He was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh on the ticket of MQM in 2013 Pakistani general election and has served as the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly.
