Headquartered in San Francisco, the organization is among the largest U.S. conservation nonprofits, with approximately 30 field offices across the U.S., including a federal affairs function in Washington, D.C.
Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, or Kenneth Hahn Park, is a state park unit of California in the Baldwin Hills Mountains of Los Angeles. The park is managed by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. As one of the largest urban parks and regional open spaces in the Greater Los Angeles Area, many have called it "L.A.'s Central Park". The 401-acre (1.62 km2) park was established in 1984. The land hs previously been the Baldwin Hills Dam, which catastrophically collapsed in 1963.
High Desert is a vernacular region with non-discrete boundaries covering areas of the western Mojave Desert in Southern California. The region encompasses various terrain with elevations generally between 2,000 and 4,000 ft above sea level, and is located just north of the San Gabriel, San Bernardino, and Little San Bernardino Mountains.

The Western Hotel is a hotel built in 1888 by the Gilroy family. It is the oldest surviving building in Lancaster, California. The Western Hotel was designated a California Historic Landmark (No.658) on September 26, 1958. The Western Hotel is located at 557 West Lancaster Boulevard, Lancaster, California, in Los Angeles County. George T. Webber purchased the hotel and ran it as the Western Hotel. The hotel was built on a train stop that was built in 1876 by the Southern Pacific railroad. The line ran through the Antelope Valley, linking San Francisco to Los Angeles. The hotel's large dining room became the meeting spot for the city. In the dining room: The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce was started, church socials held, quilting bees meetings, card parties, civic club meetings, and many Lancaster business meetings. While the Los Angeles-Owens River Aqueduct was being built, many of the construction crews were housed in the hotel from 1905 to 1913. The Western Hotel in 1992 was remodeled to a small museum and offers free tours.
