Lafayette is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, and the most populous and parish seat of Lafayette Parish, located along the Vermilion River. It is Louisiana's fourth largest incorporated municipality by population and the 234th-most populous in the United States, with a 2020 census population of 121,374; the consolidated city–parish's population was 241,753 in 2020. It's 2020 American Community Survey population estimates from 2015 to 2020 determined a total of 126,674 in the city proper. The Lafayette metropolitan area was Louisiana's third largest metropolitan statistical area with a population of 478,384 at the 2020 census. The Acadiana region containing Lafayette is the largest population and economic corridor between Houston, Texas and New Orleans.

Garber, consists of around 750 sworn and non-sworn employees. The school is the newest school in the parish, opening for the 2017–2018 school year, with the first graduating class being the class of 2020. Construction began in late April 2016, and finished in August 2017. The school is funded by the USDA.

Zydeco Spice

The Zydeco Spice is a team in the Women's Football Alliance. The team began play in the 2010 season as the Acadiana Zydeco and returned for the 2021 season under a new name. Based in the Acadiana region of Louisiana, the Zydeco plays its home games at Lafayette Christian Academy in Lafayette. They are named after the Zydeco, a local Creole dance in Acadiana.
