Kishore Kumar was an Indian playback singer and actor. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most dynamic singers in the history of Indian music. He was one of the most popular and versatile singers in the Indian film industry, notable for his yodeling and ability to sing songs in different voices. Kumar used to sing in different genres but some of his rare compositions which were considered classics were lost in time. Rahul Dev Burman was an Indian music director. Burman is considered one of the greatest music composers of the Indian film industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films. Burman did major work with his wife, Asha Bhosle, and Kishore Kumar and scored many of the songs that made these singers famous. He has also sung in various other languages including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Malayalam, and Assamese. He has won 4 National Film Awards and 5 Filmfare Awards with 20 nominations among many others. Laxmikant–Pyarelal were an Indian composer duo, consisting of Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar (1937–1998) and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma. They are considered among the most successful composers in Hindi film history and composed music for about 750 Hindi movies from 1963 to 1998, working for almost all notable filmmakers, including Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shakti Samanta, Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, Boney Kapoor, J. Alokesh Lahiri, popularly known as Bappi Lahiri, was an Indian singer, composer, politician and record producer. Mohammed Aziz, also known as Munna, was a famous Indian multilingual playback singer who primarily sang for the Bollywood, Bengali and Odia films. He sang about twenty thousand songs, including Sufi devotional songs and other genres in more than ten different Indian languages. He made his first appearance in films with a Hindi film titled Ambar (1984) and later he appeared in his first Bengali film titled Bouma (1986). Dil Daulat Duniya is a 1972 Hindi-language comedy-drama film, directed by Prem Narayan Arora and starring Rajesh Khanna, Sadhana, Ashok Kumar, Om Prakash, Sulochana, Helen and Jagdeep. The film revolves around a poor man in a palatial house who allows other newcomers in city of Mumbai to stay in his house as he feels pity on them. The music was scored by Shankar Jaikishan and songs are sung by Kishore Kumar for Rajesh Khanna. This movie was accepted by Khanna, only because he wanted to pay tribute to the acting talents of his seniors Ashok Kumar and Om Prakash, as his name would ensure that distributors would sell the film and it would reach a larger audience. The newspaper "The Hindu", in its review said "Ashok Kumar and Om Prakash are the soul of the movie and dominate the show with their acting dexterity." The film fetched 1.5 crores at the box office. As of 2012, this was among the top 10 searched movies of Khanna online.
Ek Bar Mooskura Do is a 1972 Bollywood drama film directed by Ram Mukherjee. The film stars Joy Mukherjee, Tanuja and Deb Mukherjee. O. P. Nayyar's hit music was one of the plus point of this film. Almost all the songs of the film were enjoyable. Particularly, "Tu Auron Ki Kyun Ho Gayi" sung by Kishore Kumar is considered one of his best, heart-touching, passionate and fastest songs. This song is solo version. The other version of this song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle as duet version. Lyrics were written by S. H. Bihari, Indeevar and Shevan Rizvi.
Sampooran Singh Kalra, known professionally as Gulzar or Gulzar Saab, is an Indian poet, lyricist, author, screenwriter, and film director known for his works in Hindi cinema. He started his career with music director S.D. Burman as a lyricist in the 1963 film Bandini and worked with many music directors including R. D. Burman, Salil Chowdhury, Vishal Bhardwaj and A. R. Saraswati Devi, born Khorshed Minocher-Homji, was an Indian director of music and score composer who worked in Hindi cinema in the 1930s and 1940s. She is most noted for her score, Mein Ban ki Chiriyra Banke Bun Bun Bolun Re in Bombay Talkies's Achut Kanya (1936). She along with Nargis' mother & Sanjay Dutt's grandmother Jaddanbai is considered to be one of the first female music composers in Indian cinema.
Miss Mary is a 1957 Indian comedy film directed by L.V. Prasad. The movie is an AVM production, written by Hargobind Duggal, and directed by L. V. Prasad. The original Missamma was directed in Telugu in 1955 and was remade as Missiamma in Tamil with Savitri playing the title role in both films. It was remade in Hindi as Miss Mary in 1957 with Meena Kumari in the titular role, keeping Jamuna as the constant factor in all these films. L. V. Prasad directed all three versions. The music was by Hemant Kumar with the lyrics and dialogue written by Rajendra Krishan. The songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt and Mohammed Rafi. The film's script was adapted by Chakrapani from two Indian Bengali-language novels: Rabindranath Maitra's Manmoyee Girls School and Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay'sDetective.
Singham Returns is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language political action thriller film written and directed by Rohit Shetty as the second installment of his Cop Universe. Sachin Dev Burman was an Indian music director and singer. A member of the Tripura royal family, he started his career with Bengali films in 1937. He later began composing for Hindi movies and became one of the most successful and influential Bollywood film music composers. Burman composed the soundtracks for over 100 movies, including Bengali films and Hindi. Apart from being a versatile composer, he also sang songs in the light semi-classical and folk style of Bengal. His son, R. D. Burman, was also a celebrated music composer for Bollywood films.
