The name Bailu has been used to name two tropical cyclones in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. The name was provided by China, which refers to the white deer that symbolize auspiciousness in Chinese language. It replaced the name Haiyan, which was retired after the extremely devastating typhoon of the 2013 Pacific typhoon season.
