List of storms named Urduja

Last updated

The name Urduja was used for three tropical cyclones in the Philippines by PAGASA in the Western Pacific. The name was derived from a legendary warrior princess.

Initially not included in the list of typhoon names introduced by PAGASA in 2001, the name replaced Ubbeng and Undang, which went unused in 2001 and 2005. While the former was replaced for unknown reasons, the latter was already retired by the weather bureau after a deadly typhoon in 1984. The name Urduja itself was retired from use in the Philippine area of responsibility after the 2017 season and was replaced by Uwan on the rotating four-year list of storm names.
