The Prudential Tower, also known as the Prudential Building or, colloquially, the Pru, is an international style skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts. The building, a part of the Prudential Center complex, currently stands as the 2nd-tallest building in Boston, behind the John Hancock Tower. The Prudential Tower was designed by Charles Luckman and Associates for Prudential Insurance. Completed in 1964, the building is 749 feet (228 m) tall, with 52 floors, and is tied with others as the 114th-tallest in the United States. It contains 1.2 million sq ft (110,000 m2) of commercial and retail space. Including its radio mast, the tower's pinnacle height reaches 907 feet (276 m).
One International Place is a Postmodern skyscraper in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1987, and designed by Johnson/Burgee Architects – whose principals are Philip Johnson and John Burgee – it is tied with Bulfinch Crossing: One Congress as Boston's 8th-tallest building, standing 600 feet tall and housing 46 floors. The building is very prominent in the city's skyline, particularly when viewed from Boston Harbor.
One Federal Street is a skyscraper in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Completed in 1975, it is Boston's 15th-tallest building, standing 520 feet tall, and housing 38 floors. It is very close to the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway, Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Construction of the building was completed in 1976. However, it underwent renovations between 1992 and 2011. Some of the most notable tenants include: AON Service Corporation, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan, Iron Mountain, Oppenheimer, and U.S. Bank.
One Financial Center is a modern skyscraper adjacent to Dewey Square in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1983 by Rose Associates, it is Boston's 11th-tallest building, standing 590 feet tall, and housing 46 floors. An unusual 90 ft (27 m) tall glass-roofed lobby, known as the atrium, occupies the first two stories. The remaining stories are offices, home to a number of law firms, Certified Public Accountants, and financial services companies.
One Beacon Street is a modern skyscraper in the Government Center neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1972 and refurbished in 1991, it is Boston's 20th-tallest building, standing 505 feet tall, and housing 37 floors. Its position near the top of Beacon Hill gives the building a commanding presence, though it is located away from many other Boston skyscrapers.
The Berkeley Building is a 26-story, 495-foot (151 m) building located at 200 Berkeley Street, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It is the second of the three John Hancock buildings built in Boston; it was succeeded by the John Hancock Tower. The building is known for the weather beacon at its summit, which displays distinctive light patterns as weather forecasts. The Berkeley Building is the 25th-tallest building in the city.
One Post Office Square is a 42-floor modern skyscraper in the Financial District section of Boston, Massachusetts. The skyscraper is Boston's 14th-tallest building, standing 525 feet tall. The building has exactly 831,975 square feet of Class A office space. An attached, eight-level parking garage offers 368 parking spaces and direct access to the building's lobby. It overlooks Post Office Square Park and was designed by Jung Brannen Associates. A previous building on the site at 101 Milk Street was the headquarters of the Boston Elevated Railway until about 1919.
Trans National Place, also known as 115 Winthrop Square, was a proposed supertall skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts, US. Original designs were completed by architect Renzo Piano who later left the project in March 2007. Trans National Place was intended to stand as the tallest building in Boston, Massachusetts, and New England, surpassing the 60-story John Hancock Tower by 15 stories and at least 210 feet to become the tallest building in the city. The developer was local businessman Steve Belkin, who also owns an adjoining mid-rise building, which would have been torn down as part of the project.
City Place I is a 38-story, 163.7 m (537 ft) skyscraper at 185 Asylum Street in Hartford, Connecticut. It is the tallest building in the state, tallest building in New England outside of Boston, and two meters taller than Travelers Tower, built in 1919. City Place I was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and completed in 1980. The majority of the building is office space, though there are various restaurant and retail establishments found on the lower floors.
State Street Bank Building, also known as 225 Franklin Street, is a high-rise office building located in the Financial District, Boston, Massachusetts. The building stands at 477 feet with 33 floors and was completed in 1966. It is tied with 33 Arch Street as the 27th-tallest building in Boston. The architectural firm who designed the building was F.A. Stahl & Associates. State Street Bank Building was one of the first skyscrapers to be built in Boston after the completion of the Prudential Tower in 1964. The building gained its name from the prominent "State Street Bank" lettering present at the top of the building for many years, although the sign has since been taken down. A similar "State Street" sign was subsequently placed at One Lincoln Street.
The John W. McCormack State Office Building, also referred to by its address 1 Ashburton Place, is a high-rise building adjacent to the Beacon Hill neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts. The building stands at 401 feet with 22 floors. Construction began in 1972 and was completed in 1975. It is currently the 36th-tallest building in Boston. The architectural firm who designed the building was Hoyle, Doran & Berry. The McCormack Building is notable because of its distinctive black and white façade.
99 High Street, previously known as the Keystone Building, is a high-rise office building located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. The building stands at 400 feet with 32 floors. Construction began in 1969 and was completed in 1971. In height, it is tied with Harbor Towers I as the 37th-tallest building in Boston. The building was the first development in Boston of the New York–based real estate firm Rose Associates, led by Daniel Rose, who went on to develop One Financial Center and Boston Wharf. The original owners were Rose Associates, Central & District Properties (London), and anchor tenant Keystone Custodial Funds. The building is currently owned by TIAA-CREF.
Russia Wharf is a completed high-rise building in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. The building rises 436 feet (133 m) and contains 32 floors. Construction began in 2006 and was finished in early 2011; as such, the structure is one of the most recently completed high-rises in the city. Russia Wharf now stands as the 35th-tallest building in the city. The architectural firm that designed the building is Childs Bertman Tseckares Inc., of Boston, Massachusetts. The civil engineer, also responsible for managing permitting was Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. of Watertown, Massachusetts. The mixed use project includes approximately 709,000 square feet (65,900 m2) of class-A commercial office space and 65 residential units. The site consists of approximately 2.2 acres (8,900 m2). From about 1897 to 2007, the site contained three low-rise mercantile buildings called the Russia, Graphic Arts, and Tufts Buildings. The office tower is being constructed on the site of the Graphic Arts and Tufts Buildings. As of 2009, Boston Properties has begun to refer to the building as Atlantic Wharf.
The Aquarium Garage Development, was a proposed supertall skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It was intended to be tied with Trans National Place as the tallest building in Boston. If built, it would have surpassed the 60-story John Hancock Tower by 10 stories and about 210 feet.
One Dalton is a 850,000 sq ft (79,000 m2) skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the third tallest building in Boston, the tallest residential building in New England, and the tallest building constructed in the city since Hancock Place in 1976. It is located in the Back Bay neighborhood, not far from 200 Clarendon Street and the Prudential Tower, the two tallest skyscrapers in Boston. It contains the Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences, One Dalton Street.
Tower Square is a 29-story commercial office building located in Springfield, Massachusetts. With a height of 371 feet (113 m), Tower Square is the second tallest building in both Springfield, and in Massachusetts outside of Boston. The building has approximately 300,000 square feet (28,000 m2). The building was developed by Mass Mutual. Constructed in 1970 by Pietro Belluschi; it was designed in the international style.
