Liufau Tanielu Sonoma Unutoa (died August 4, 2009) was an American Samoan politician.
Sonoma served as high chief of the village of Aua, American Samoa. He also served in the American Samoa Senate. Sonoma worked as a meteorologist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration [1] [2]

Peter Tali Coleman was the first person of Samoan descent to be appointed Governor of American Samoa, and later became the territory's first popularly elected Governor. A member of the Republican Party, he is the only U.S. governor whose service spanned five decades and one of the longest-serving governors of any jurisdiction in American history. In 1955, Coleman became the first of Samoan ancestry to serve as Attorney General of American Samoa.
Gerald Michael Gabbard is an American politician, serving as a Democratic member of the Hawaii State Senate for District 20 since 2006. Gabbard rose to prominence for his successful effort to pass a 1998 amendment to the Constitution of Hawaii to give the state legislature "the power to reserve marriage to opposite-sex couples" under the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed by Bill Clinton in 1996. Gabbard, who was born in American Samoa, is the first person of Samoan descent to serve in the Hawaii Senate.
Rear Admiral Norman von Heldreich Farquhar was an officer in the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He is best known for commanding a naval squadron which was wrecked with three German warships at Apia, Samoa in 1889.

The United States House of Representatives election in American Samoa took place on November 4, 2008 to elect the delegate from American Samoa's At-large congressional district. The non-voting delegate to the United States House of Representatives is elected for two-year terms; whoever is elected will serve in the 111th Congress from January 3, 2009 until January 3, 2011. The election coincides with the 2008 U.S. presidential election. Incumbent Eni Faleomavaega was re-elected.

John Martin Poyer was the twelfth Naval Governor of American Samoa, from March 1, 1915 to June 10, 1919. He held the longest term of any American governor appointed over the territory by the United States Government. A Naval Academy graduate, Poyer served in numerous positions and retired in 1906 on account of failing health; however, the navy recalled him to service in 1915 to serve as governor. During the 1918 flu pandemic, Poyer quarantined the territory to stop the spread of the pandemic to American Samoa. Because of his actions, no deaths occurred in American Samoa, and he received the Navy Cross. Upon his final retirement, Poyer had reached the rank of commander.
Henry Francis Bryan was a United States Navy Rear Admiral and the 17th Governor of American Samoa. He served as governor from March 17, 1925 to September 9, 1927. Bryan was one of only three naval governors of the territory who had retired from naval service before serving as governor, the others being John Martin Poyer and his immediate predecessor, Edward Stanley Kellogg. In the Navy, he had numerous commands, and served in the Spanish–American War. His largest command was the Special Service Squadron.
Caroline Sinavaiana-Gabbard is a Samoan writer and Associate Professor of Pacific literature at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. She is also a poet.
The Sonoma State Seawolves are the athletic teams that represent Sonoma State University, located in Rohnert Park, California, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Seawolves compete as members of the California Collegiate Athletic Association for all 13 varsity sports except for women's water polo, which competes in the Western Water Polo Association and men's and women's tennis, which compete in the Pacific West Conference.
Lolo Letalu Matalasi is an American Samoan politician, former educator, businessman, and former President of the Development Bank of American Samoa (DBAS) from 2009 to 2012. Moliga was elected Governor of American Samoa in the 2012 gubernatorial election.
Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga is an American Samoan politician. Mauga is the current Lieutenant Governor of American Samoa. Mauga served as Senator in the American Samoa Senate, where he became the Chairman of both the Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
