Live Earth Alert has been organised in the Netherlands on 7 July 2007 in addition to the worldwide event of Live Earth and had a unique character because of its length and total concept.
In the Netherlands they[ who? ] presented and broadcast live a 24hour program 'Live Earth Alert' on 7 July 2007, the day of Live Earth from almost 08:00-08:00hrs[ clarification needed ] including live-streams from all 7 continents and stadiums (in sequential other).
All times in W.E.T., it started early Saturday-morning 07/07 and finished Sunday-morning 07/08.

Live Earth Alert has included worldwide reports from Dutch correspondents stationed in all 7 seven continents and also from the home-location Westerpark in Amsterdam: (Live Earth Alert), [2] where parallel run[ clarification needed ] a concert-program on stage produced by the Dutch from 12:00-23:00hrs, local time in the Netherlands.
The Dutch public broadcasting system is a set of organizations that together take care of public service television and radio broadcasting in the Netherlands. It is composed of a foundation called Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), which acts as its governing body, and a number of public broadcasters. The Dutch Media Act 2008 regulates how air time is divided and puts the administration of the public broadcasting system in the hands of the Board of Directors of NPO.
Radio 538 is a Dutch commercial radio station active since 1992 and based in Hilversum. It is the second most listend radio station in the Netherlands. Radio 538 refers to the wavelength that Radio Veronica was broadcast on in the seventies. This station was intended for the younger generation and is owned by Talpa Network. It plays a hybrid of current dance, R'n'B, pop and rock hits, mainly based upon the Dutch Top 40 chart. The station neither focuses on a CHR/Top-40 format, nor a more Dance-intensive approach. The breakfast and drivetime shows are more talk-intensive than others. Traditionally, the station was only obtained through cable, however in 1998 the station upgraded to a different frequency package, allowing for different frequencies by region. Radio 538 started the hip-hop and contemporary R&B program Juize, which developed into the radio station Juize.FM on 18 July 2004. Later, in 2011, Radio 538 created a sister station called TV 538.
SLAM! is a Dutch commercial national radio station that plays current-based rhythmic and dance hits. SLAM! has a strong commitment in breaking new dance music. The playlist and presentation serves as a combination of 538 and 3FM. The station is broadcast in the Netherlands and can be received via the ether FM, Internet (worldwide) and cable. The broadcasting building and studios of SLAM! are located in Naarden, North Holland. In 2012, it was announced that SLAM! has the largest market share among the country's young people (16.8%). It is a sister station of 100% NL.
NPO 1 is the first national television station in the Netherlands, it launched on 2 October 1951. It provides public broadcasting and currently exists next to sister channels NPO 2 and NPO 3. A wide range of broadcasting organisations of the Publieke Omroep deliver programs. A wide variety of programs is broadcast on the channel, usually for larger audiences. In 2018, it was the most viewed channel in the Netherlands, reaching a market share of 22.0%.
NPO 3 is the third and youngest of the terrestrial television channels operated by the Dutch public-broadcasting organization NPO in the Netherlands and carries programmes provided by member-based non-profit broadcasting associations. It is oriented towards children, youth and innovative television.
RTL 7 is a Dutch free-to-air television channel that was launched as Veronica on 1 September 1995. RTL 7 is a so-called men's channel with action films, reality television about crime and professions, soccer, motorsport and talk shows about sports. During daytime business and financial news channel RTL Z was broadcasting on RTL 7 till RTL Nederland revamped RTL Z into a 24-hours channel on 7 September 2015.
BVN, is a Dutch free-to-air television channel providing Dutch and Flemish public-service television to viewers around the world.
TMF was a 24-hour music channel operated by Viacom International Media Networks in the Netherlands. The channel was previously in every standard TV package, but it is ceased operating on 1 September 2011. The channels operations were based in Amsterdam. The channel was previously known as TMF6 and TMF9 respectively.
NPO 3FM is a Dutch rhythmic CHR radio station controlled by public broadcaster NPO. The vast majority of the songs played on-air are rock, alternative, indie and pop, though dance and top 40 tracks may also air at times. It can be compared with BBC Radio 1.
RTL Nederland is a subsidiary of the RTL Group. The media company is located in Hilversum. Although the licences of its TV-stations RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7, RTL 8, RTL Z, RTL Lounge, RTL Crime and RTL Telekids are issued by Luxembourg, the company targets the Dutch market. Its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Sven Sauvé, who used to be the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RTL Nederland.
Arrow Classic Rock is a Dutch radio station, that plays classic rock and some modern rock. Arrow Classic Rock broadcasts on FM and is also receivable via cable, all nationwide. Owned by Ad Ossendrijver and Willem van Kooten, the station started broadcasts via all Dutch cablenetworks in 1996 and bought AM 828 from Veronica FM in 1998. In 2003 the frequencies of medium wave had been redistributed and the station moved to AM 675. In May 2007 Crosspoints BV, the company which produced Arrow Classic Rock and Arrow Jazz FM bought Caz! to use their FM frequencies. On 31 January 2008 they ceased their AM transmissions, transmitting an announcement in English advising their move to FM and to use the web stream. Three evenings a week, a variety of program specials can be heard. On Monday Liselotte Hegt presents the program Arrow High Voltage!, on Tuesday Arie Verstegen presented Symphonic Mania! and Wednesday to hear the Bluesbox Gerry Jungen.
De Grote Donorshow was a reality television program which was broadcast in the Netherlands on Friday, June 1, 2007, by BNN. The program involved a supposedly terminally ill 37-year-old woman donating a kidney to one of twenty-five people requiring a kidney transplantation. After a first selection, three people remained. Viewers were able to send advice on whom they thought she should choose to give her kidney to via text messages. The profit made by the text messages was given to the Dutch Kidney Foundation. The program, due to its controversial nature, had received heavy international criticism in the run-up to the broadcast. In the end, it was revealed during the course of the show that the "terminally ill" woman was, in reality, an actress, although the three candidates were, in fact, real kidney patients; they were aware that Lisa was an actress, and participated because they were supportive of BNN's cause to give awareness to the limited number of organ donors in the Netherlands.
NPO Radio 5 is a Dutch public-service network radio station operated by NPO. Its main format is classic hits from the 1950s and beyond, with a much stronger emphasis from the 1960s to 1980s. Very rarely, songs from the late-1940s may air at times. The service targets 55 year olds and older, in contrast to that of Radio 2 (35-55) and 3FM (15-35).
Live Earth was a one off event developed to combat climate change. The first series of benefit concerts were held on July 7, 2007. The concerts brought together more than 150 musical acts in eleven locations around the world which were broadcast to a mass global audience through televisions, radio, and streamed via the Internet.
Radio 10 is a Dutch commercial radio station that mostly focuses on songs from the 1970s to 2000s, with a moderate amount of mid 1960s' and 2010s' hits. It is one of the oldest, still remaining, commercial radio stations of the Netherlands.
Talpa Network is the company in which John de Mol Jr. has transferred all of its media activities. Besides John de Mol, who as majority shareholder owns 80% of the company, Rabo Participaties owns a 20% stake in the media company. The holding company has amongst the 538 group with radio station Radio 538. Talpa Media, formerly part of Talpa Holding, has been sold to ITV plc and is a separate business unit within ITV Studios.
Veronica is a brand name of successive Dutch commercial radio and television stations. It began its life as an offshore radio station, Radio Veronica, on 17 May 1960. The name comes from its first name VRON. "Free" was a reference to the laws at the time that didn't allow commercial radio broadcasters to operate from a location within the (land) territory of the Netherlands.
Arrow Caz is a national Dutch commercial radio station. The station is owned by Arrow and only aired even over the Internet.
BNNVARA is a broadcasting association within the Dutch public broadcasting system.
