Livewell Southwest, formerly known as Plymouth Community Healthcare is a community interest company established under the Transforming Community Services programme in 2011.
It employs two mental health teams working within Derriford Hospital, on the wards and in A&E and provide out of hours support to Derriford via on call mental health staff. [1]
It took over social services in the city of Plymouth in April 2015. [2]
In May 2015 it won a four-year contract to deliver Pathways for adults with complex needs for Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon by the Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group. [3]
It took over the five surgeries of the Plymouth Mayflower Medical Group, with about 40,000 patients, in 2022. [4] It also set up a short-term care centre to help people recover after having hospital treatment, working with Age UK Plymouth. [5]
Plymouth City Airport was an airport located within the City of Plymouth 3.5 NM north northeast of the city centre in Devon, England at Derriford. The airport opened on this site in 1925 and was officially opened by the future king Edward VIII, as Prince of Wales, in 1931.

Derriford Hospital is a large teaching hospital in Plymouth, England. The hospital serves Plymouth and nearby areas of Devon and Cornwall. It also provides tertiary cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and renal transplant surgery for the whole of the South West Peninsula. It is managed by the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. It was designated a major trauma centre in 2013. A helipad capable of night operation was opened in 2015, to replace the existing daytime-only grass pad. The hospital is used for clinical training of medical students from the Plymouth University Peninsula School of Medicine. It is one of five hospitals with attached Ministry of Defence Hospital Units to cater to service personnel.
The Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS trust that provides mental health, learning disability and eating disorders services. It serves a population of around two million people living in County Durham, Darlington and most of North Yorkshire. It is geographically one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in England.

Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust was a NHS trust that provided health and care in and around Torbay, Devon, England. It was a pioneer within the NHS in England in demonstrating the advantages of integrating health and social care into one organisation. And "one of three areas that have been working to learn from Kaiser Permanente, a leading United States health maintenance organisation." It was established as Torbay Care Trust in October 2005, with responsibility for social care in a partnership agreement with Torbay Borough Council. From then until April 2012, the trust had responsibility for both commissioning (buying) and providing integrated health and social care services to people in the Torbay area. As part of the changes associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2012 the commissioning function was detached from the trust.
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, formerly known as Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is the organisation which runs Derriford Hospital, and the co-located Royal Eye Infirmary (REI), as well as the Child Development Centre in Plymouth, Devon. The trust is an NHS trust that provides secondary health services in Plymouth and surrounding areas.

Healthcare in Devon was the responsibility of two clinical commissioning groups until July 2022, one covering Northern, Eastern and Western Devon, and one covering South Devon and Torbay. It was announced in November 2018 that the two were to merge.

ASC Healthcare is a mental health service provider based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. It runs the Breightmet Centre, an autism treatment centre in Bolton, which opened in 2013. Additionally, for a short period, it also ran a small hospital called Mayfield Court in Whalley Range, which was used for short term placements of mental health patients. In 2019 ASC Healthcare proposed a similar acute crisis unit for mental health patients in Blackburn be opened.
