Lodenwalke Ramsau am Dachstein is a traditional textile company located in Ramsau am Dachstein town, Austria founded in 1434. [1] It is the oldest business enterprise in Styria and tourists can see various machines over 200 years old. [2]

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 took place February 19–28, 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria. The large hill ski jumping events took place at the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen. The 7.5 km Nordic combined sprint event debuted at these championships.

Dachstein Glacier is a glacier located above the town of Ramsau am Dachstein in Austria. Snow is at the top of the glacier throughout the year. However snow is soft in summer. This mountain is located south of Salzburg. The train stops at Schladming and from there is a bus to the village below the Dachstein Mountains.

The Red Bull X-Alps is a paragliding race in which athletes must hike or fly 1,000 km across the Alps. It first launched in 2003 and has since taken place every other year. Around 30 athletes take part and must navigate their way via a predetermined set of turnpoints that vary with each race. Every kilometer must be covered either on foot or by paraglider. Teams consist of one athlete and one official supporter, whose role it is to provide technical advice, mental and nutritional support.

The Simony Hut is an Alpine club hut belonging to the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) located at a height of 2,205 metres, just below the Hallstätter Glacier at the foot of the Hoher Dachstein in Austria. The hut, which is named after Friedrich Simony the first person to ascend Hoher Dachstein, is high above Hallstatt in Upper Austria in the northern part of the Dachstein Mountains. The Lattengebirge, also sometimes called the Latten Mountains, are a mountain range up to 1,738 m above sea level (NN) in the county of Berchtesgadener Land in the German state of Bavaria. They form a subgroup of the Berchtesgaden Alps and forms the northern end of its parent range.
