Lokomotief Rijswijk, also known as simply Lokomotief, is a Dutch amateur basketball club based in Rijswijk. Established on 1 April 1971, both the first men's and women's teams currently play in the Promotiedivisie, the second-tier league in Dutch basketball. [1] The club has won one major trophy in its history, when it won the NBB Cup in the 1986–87 season. In 2018 and 2019, Lokomotief won consecutive Promotiedivisie titles. The team has since then played well in the NBB Cup competition, even eliminating first level club Den Helder Suns in the 2020–21 season. [2]

Home games of the Magixx were played in Sporthal De Arcus since 2012, therefore De Horstacker was used. The long time main sponsor of the team was The Matrixx. In 2014, Magixx departed from the DBL after the club could not find funding.

The Basketball Cup, formerly the NBB Cup, is an annual cup competition for Dutch basketball teams organized by the Basketball Nederland. Every team in the Netherlands can participate by signing up for the preliminary rounds. Professional basketball teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the tournament in the fourth round. From 1977 until 1990 professional teams were not allowed to participate in the competition.

The 2017–18 NBB Cup was the 50th edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. Donar was the defending champion. Donar successfully defended its title, after beating runners-up ZZ Leiden in the Final. The Final was played on 25 March 2018 in MartiniPlaza in Groningen.

CBV Binnenland is a Dutch basketball club based in Barendrecht. Its women's team plays in the national first tier Vrouwen Basketball League (VBL). The men's team plays in the national second tier Promotiedivisie.

Red Giants (basketball club)

Red Giants is a Dutch basketball club based in Meppel, Drenthe. Founded in 1974 as Alcides, the club reached the Eredivisie in 1987. It played in the Dutch highest tier league until 1996.
