Lola Lafon (born 1974) is a French writer and musician. [1]

She was born in northern France, but grew up in Sofia and Bucharest. She is the author of five novels. Her best known novel The Little Communist Who Never Smiled is based on the life of the champion gymnast Nadia Comăneci. It has been translated into numerous languages and won ten literary prizes in France, among them the Prix Ouest-France Étonnants Voyageurs  [ fr ], the Prix Jules Rimet  [ fr ] and the Prix Version Fémina  [ fr ]. Boileau-Narcejac is the pen name used by the prolific French crime-writing duo of Pierre Boileau and Pierre Ayraud, aka Thomas Narcejac. Their successful collaboration produced 43 novels, 100 short stories and 4 plays. They are credited with having helped to form an authentically French subgenre of crime fiction with the emphasis on local settings and mounting psychological suspense.
