Plot

Confronted by a loan shark who is collecting what he is owed, Simon is faced with one option only: he has to repay his family's debts. Ripped from his comfortable rural lifestyle, he travels far away to the big city, hoping to work off the debts. But from the moment he sets foot in the city, everything seems to be against Simon. [3]

Production

Looking for Iilonga was shot in and around Windhoek over four days in November 2010. The screenplay was written by Tim Huebschle and Nailoke Mhanda, based on an idea by Nailoke. [4] The actors translated their respective lines into Oshivambo. [5]

The film was uploaded to YouTube in February 2019. By June of the same year it was watched 75,000 times. [6]

Petrus Iilonga was a Namibian politician as well as a trade union leader and political prisoner in Robben Island. A member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Iilonga served as Deputy Minister in various Ministries and was a member of the party's Central Committee.

John Alphons Pandeni was a Namibian politician and trade unionist. A member of SWAPO, Pandeni was Minister of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development at the time of his death in 2008.

Culture of Namibia

The film stars Paulus Johannes and his life as a person living with albinism in one of the hottest parts of Namibia. The film made its premiere on August 4, 2017 at the Jozi Film Festival Discovery Channel Don't Stop Wondering, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Dead River, is a 2012 Namibian short drama history film directed by Tim Huebschle and co-produced by Cecil Moller and Marinda Stein. The film stars Christin Meinecke-Mareka and Jens Schneider in lead roles whereas Jade Coury, David Ndjavera and Hans-Christian Mahnke in supportive roles.
