Lorelly Wilson is a British chemist, educator and founder of Chemistry with Cabbage, [1] hands-on workshops to inspire students to study science. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry [2] and was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to education. [3] [4]

Wilson began her career at Imperial Chemical Industries [5] before starting to work in education outreach, running workshops for schools and working with the Royal Society of Chemistry to develop educational resources for teachers. [6] [7] Chair of the British Science Association's North West branch, Wilson runs SciBar events across the region, inviting experts to pubs and bars to bring science to the general public. [8] [9] [10]

In her spare time Wilson plays the viola and is the editor for a talking newspaper for people who are blind or partially sighted. [2] [11] [12]

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a learned society in the United Kingdom with the goal of "advancing the chemical sciences". Martyn Poliakoff English chemist

Sir Martyn Poliakoff is an English chemist, working on gaining insights into fundamental chemistry, and on developing environmentally acceptable processes and materials. The core themes of his work are supercritical fluids, infrared spectroscopy and lasers. He is a research professor in chemistry at the University of Nottingham. His group comprises several members of staff, postdoctoral research fellows, postgraduate students and overseas visitors. As well as carrying out research at the University of Nottingham, he is a lecturer, teaching a number of modules including green chemistry.

Lesley Yellowlees British chemist

Lesley Jane Yellowlees, is a British inorganic chemist conducting research in Spectroelectrochemistry, Electron transfer reactions and Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) Spectroscopy. Yellowlees was also elected as the president of the Royal Society of Chemistry 2012–14 and was the first woman to hold that role.

Geraldine L. Richmond American chemist and physicist

Geraldine Lee Richmond is an American chemist and physical chemist. Richmond is the Presidential Chair in Science and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oregon (UO). She conducts fundamental research to understand the chemistry and physics of complex surfaces and interfaces. These understandings are most relevant to energy production, atmospheric chemistry and remediation of the environment. Throughout her career she has worked to increase the number and success of women scientists in the U.S. and in many developing countries in Africa, Asia and South America. Richmond has served as president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and she received the 2013 National Medal of Science.

Ronald Lancaster (chemist)
