Lorna Jordan (1954 - 2021) is an American artist known for her public artworks based on environmental themes. She died on 24 February 2021. [1] [2]
Her public artwork Bow Passage Overlook is located in the Pearce Estate Park in Calgary, Alberta. [3] [4]
Jordan's 1998 work Waterworks Gardens, a collaboration made visible the process of water processing at the Renton, Washington wastewater treatment plant. [5] [6]
Jordan's work is included in the collections of the Seattle Art Museum [7] and the State of Washington. [1]
In 2010, the City of Madison received a grant from the NEA Mayors’ Institute on City Design 25th Anniversary Initiative [8] to work with Jordan in designing Madison's Central Park (now named McPike Park). The Jordan designed "Art Approach" included in the Central Park Master Plan [9] includes a conceptual framework and outlines descriptions and locations of artworks to be integrated into Central Park's systems, connections and places. The design team also included Schreiber/Anderson Associates; Ken Saiki Design; and JJR, LLC.
Maya Ying Lin is an American designer and sculptor. In 1981, while an undergraduate at Yale University, she achieved national recognition when she won a national design competition for the planned Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The Bow River is a river in Alberta, Canada. It begins within the Canadian Rocky Mountains and winds through the Alberta foothills onto the prairies, where it meets the Oldman River, the two then forming the South Saskatchewan River. These waters ultimately flow through the Nelson River into Hudson Bay. The Bow River runs through the city of Calgary, taking in the Elbow River at the historic site of Fort Calgary near downtown. The Bow River pathway, developed along the river's banks, is considered a part of Calgary's self-image.

Neukom Vivarium is a 2006 mixed media installation by American artist Mark Dion, located at Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington, United States. The work features a 60-foot (18 m) Western hemlock that fell outside of Seattle in 1996, acting as a nurse log within an 80-foot (24 m) greenhouse. According to the Seattle Art Museum, which operates the park, the tree "inhabits an art system" consisting of bacteria, fungi, insects, lichen and plants. The installation supplies magnifying glasses to visitors wanting a closer inspection; they are provided field guides in the form of tiles.
Fay Jones is an American artist, based in Seattle, Washington. A large number of her works are exhibited in public places in the Pacific Northwest, including a mural in the Westlake Station of the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel and a painting in Seattle's opera house, McCaw Hall. Emily Ginsburg is a conceptual artist who lives in Portland, Oregon. She was selected for the Portland2016 Biennial by curator Michelle Grabner. And her work was noted as a highlight of the Oregon Biennial in 2006. Jennifer Gately, the curator of that Biennial, noted that Ginsburg's work, "reveals a deep interest in the signs and symbols of communication, scientific illustration, architectural notation, electronics, and the human nervous system." Ginsburg's "work often functions as a map or code for understanding an aspect of an individual or collective consciousness."
Dale Hodges Park is a 40.4686 hectares natural environment urban park, stormwater treatment, and public artwork in northwest Calgary, Alberta—an expansion of Bowmont Park— where stormwater from eight northwest upstream residential communities flows slowly through "water structures and landforms" inspired by "natural river morphology as well as hydrologic and sedimentation processes" that serve as filters. The park, which is connected to the regional pathway, has a boardwalk, cycling and walking trails, the Nautilus Pond, a polishing marsh, a wet meadow, man-made streams, vantage points of the Bow River, and wildlife habitat.
Katy Stone is an American visual artist recognized for her installation-based artworks evoking organic forms, patterns, and natural phenomena.
