Avie Bennett, was a Canadian businessman and philanthropist. He was the founder of First Plazas, a real estate development company that built retail strip malls in Canada. Bennett also served as the tenth chancellor of York University.
McMaster Children's Hospital (MCH), in Hamilton, Ontario, is one of Canada's largest pediatric academic tertiary care teaching hospitals affiliated with McMaster University. It is operated by Hamilton Health Sciences and is within the McMaster University Medical Centre. MCH became a children's hospital in 1988. The hospital was recently ranked 2nd in Canada for research according to Research Infosource Inc.
Rocco Louis Gentilcore was an author and a professor of historical geography at McMaster University, in Hamilton, in what is now the School of Earth, Environment & Society. His parents were emigrants from the town of Molinara in the Campania region of Italy. He studied at the University of Toronto and obtained his PhD from the University of Maryland. His research was on the historical geography of Canada, and, in particular, settlement development in eastern Canada during the nineteenth century. He edited the second volume of the Historical Atlas of Canada, a three-volume collaborative research and publishing project, undertaken by University of Toronto Press and finished in 1993, which used maps, text and other graphics to explore themes in the history of Canada. In 1989, the R. Louis Gentilcore Prize was established on the occasion of his retirement from the Department of Geography, McMaster University. In 1994 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. He had three children: David Gentilcore is a historian at the University of Venice Ca' Foscari (Italy), Roxanne Gentilcore is assistant professor of classics at Saint Anselm College, in New Hampshire, United States, and Susan Gentilcore (1966-2022).
The McMaster Museum of Art (MMA) is a non-profit public art gallery at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. The museum is located in the centre of the campus, attached to Mills Memorial Library and close to the McMaster University Student Centre.

McNicholas uses computational statistics techniques, and mixture models in particular, to gain insight into large and complex datasets. He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Classification.
Karen Ann Kidd is a Canadian aquatic ecotoxicologist. She is the Jarislowsky Chair in Environment and Health and Professor of Biology at McMaster University and member of the International Joint Commission.
Kathleen Anne Martin Ginis is a Canadian exercise behavioural scientist. She is a Full professor in the Department of Medicine and in the School of Health and Exercise Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She also holds the Reichwald Family UBC Southern Medical Program Chair in Preventive Medicine.
