Mägo de Oz are a Spanish folk metal band from Begoña, Madrid formed in mid-1988 by drummer Txus di Fellatio. The band became well known for the strong Celtic feel to their music strengthened through their consistent usage of a violinist and flautist. The name for the band was chosen, according to founding member Txus, because "life is a yellow brick road, on which we walk in the company of others searching for our dreams." On the 26th of October, 2018, the band played a special concert to celebrate their 30th anniversary, playing with a symphony orchestra at the WiZink Center in Madrid.
Uruguayan rock first emerged in Uruguay in the 1950s. The real breakthrough for rock in Uruguay, however, as in much of the world, came with the arrival of The Beatles in the early 1960s. Although the country has a small population and is far-removed from the world's cultural centres, rock music from these land, which has always taken on an identity forged from a mix of different cultures and local peculiarities, crossing different genres and styles, has largely been a well-kept secret outside the region. Thanks to the Internet and easy access to music libraries through streaming services such as Spotify, this is now changing.
Selena y Los Dinos was an American Tejano band formed in 1981 by Tejano singer Selena and her father Abraham Quintanilla. The band remained together until the murder of Selena in 1995, which caused the dissolution of the band in the same year. When Selena was signed with EMI Latin, EMI president José Behar told Selena that "the world wanted Selena, not Selena y Los Dinos." Selena then began releasing her solo studio albums under her name and her own logo title Selena instead of Selena y Los Dinos. Before Selena was signed with EMI, the band had sold more than 80,000 copies in the state of Texas.

Mexrrissey is a Mexican band co-founded by Camilo Lara and Sergio Mendoza. Inspired by Morrissey and The Smiths' songs, Camilo and Sergio along with: Ceci Bastida, Jay de la Cueva, Alejandro Flores, Chetes and Ricardo Nájera began this musical project in 2015. Their album No Manchester (2016) contains Morrissey songs translated into Spanish with a mix of Latin beats and sounds added to the music. After their first show in Mexico City, the band began with a UK tour in April 2015. During the spring of 2018, Mexrrissey conducted a UK tour promoted as "La Reina Is Dead".

It stars Angélica Vale as the main character.

In 2018 they released a single featuring Chilean-Mexican singer Mon Laferte, which was released on 20 July 2018 through PopArt as part of Los Auténticos Decadentes live album Fiesta Nacional . The song was written by Jorge Serrano and produced by Los Auténticos Decadentes, Gustavo Borner, Moska Lorenzo and Mariano Franceschelli.
Got Talent Uruguay is a Uruguayan reality television series, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. Presented by Natalia Oreiro, it is produced by Fremantle along Syco Entertainment, and broadcast on Channel 10. The show debuted on June 22, 2020, being, its first episode, the most watched program of the day, reaching 17.7 rating points. It airs every Monday at 9 p.m.

A member of the Movement of Popular Participation, a constituent party of the Broad Front, he previously served as the 23rd intendant of Canelones from 2015 to 2020.

The first season of Got Talent Uruguay, an Uruguayan talent show competition, was broadcast in Uruguay during 2020, from June 22 to December 7 on Channel 10. The judging panel was formed by Orlando Petinatti, María Noel Riccetto, Claudia Fernández and Agustín Casanova. Alongside the main programme, the first series was accompanied by a spin-off sister programme on the same station, titled Amamos el Talento, hosted by Noelia Etcheverry and Kairo Herrera.
Miss Grand Uruguay is a national beauty pageant title awarded to Uruguay representatives competing at the Miss Grand International contest. The title was first awarded on the national stage of the Nuestra Belleza Uruguay 2016 pageant, in which Mellina Carballo was named the first Miss Grand Uruguay titleholder. The contest was organized by Nadia Cerri, who was also the director of the Miss Uruguay pageant. Another titleholder, Jimena Martino, was determined through an audition held by the Certamen Nacional de Belleza Uruguay pageant in 2020.
