Lou Giordano

Lou Giordano (born c. 1957) [1] is a record producer and recording engineer who co-founded Radiobeat Studios. [2] He worked at Fort Apache Studios when it was located in Boston, [3] and was a partner in the production company Prodco, which had close ties with Fort Apache. [4]

Giordano received a degree in electrical engineering from MIT. [5] He was a sound man for Hüsker Dü through 1988, [6] and later produced Bob Mould's spin off Sugar. [7] Giordano also built effects pedals for Mission of Burma. [8]

He has produced a wide variety of bands, including Sunny Day Real Estate, The Connells, and the Goo Goo Dolls. [5]

Giordano is also well known for having produced Taking Back Sunday’s second album, Where You Want To Be .

Twin/Tone Records was an independent record label based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which operated from 1977 until 1994. It was the original home of influential Minnesota bands the Replacements and Soul Asylum and was instrumental in helping the Twin Cities music scene achieve national attention in the 1980s. Along with other independent American labels such as SST Records, Touch and Go Records, and Dischord, Twin/Tone helped to spearhead the nationwide network of underground bands that formed the pre-Nirvana indie-rock scene. These labels presided over the shift from the hardcore punk that then dominated the American underground scene to the more diverse styles of alternative rock that were emerging.

The discography of Hüsker Dü, an American punk rock band, consists of six studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, two extended plays, and ten singles. The band was formed by Bob Mould, Grant Hart, and Greg Norton in 1979. Their first album release was Land Speed Record, a live album released through New Alliance Records. The band released its first studio album, Everything Falls Apart on its own label the following year. Hüsker Dü signed with SST Records in 1983, and released its next three albums with that label. The Warner Music Group released the band's last two studio albums. Hüsker Dü broke up in 1987. The band released 6 albums, including two double albums, between January 1983 and January 1987.

<i>Goo</i> (album) 1990 studio album by Sonic Youth

Goo is the sixth full-length studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth, released on June 26, 1990, by DGC Records. For this album, the band sought to expand upon its trademark alternating guitar arrangements and the layered sound of their previous album Daydream Nation (1988) with songwriting that was more topical than past works, exploring themes of female empowerment and pop culture. Coming off the success of Daydream Nation, Nick Sansano returned to engineer Goo, but veteran producer Ron Saint Germain was chosen by Sonic Youth to finish mixing the album following Sansano's dismissal.

Terry James Katzman was a producer, sound engineer, archivist, and record-store owner in Minneapolis, Minnesota, known for his work with the Twin Cities music scene, particularly during the formative early years of Hüsker Dü, The Replacements, and The Suburbs.
