The Filmfare Award awards for Best Actor is an award, begun in 1954, presented annually at the Filmfare Awards to an actor via a jury. This is given by Filmfare as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi (Bollywood) films. The award was first given in 1954. As of 2020, Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan lead the list, with eight wins each.

The film is one of the rare films where lead actress Hema Malini played a negative role, being a jealous mistress of a zamindar who tries to frame his young wife as an adultress. Odia literature is the literature written in the Odia language and predominantly originates in the Indian state of Odisha. The language is also spoken by minority populations of the neighbouring states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The region has been known at different stages of history as Kalinga, Udra, Utkala or Hirakhanda. Odisha was a vast empire in ancient and medieval times, extending from the Ganges in the north to the Godavari in the south. During British rule, however, Odisha lost its political identity and formed parts of the Bengal and Madras Presidencies. The present state of Odisha was formed in 1936. The modern Odia language is formed mostly from Pali words with significant Sanskrit influence. About 28% of modern Odia words have Adivasi origins, and about 2% have Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu), Persian, or Arabic origins. The earliest written texts in the language are about thousand years old. The first Odia newspaper was Utkala Deepika first published on 4 August 1866.

Minati Mishra was an Indian classical dancer and actress, known for her expertise in the Indian classical dance form of Odissi. She was reported in 2011 to be the oldest-living Odissi performer. The Government of India honored Mishra in 2012, with the fourth-highest civilian award of Padma Shri.
Kanhu Charan Mohanty was an Indian Odia language novelist who has authored fifty-six novels in a career spanning over six decades from 1930 to 1985. He is considered as "one of the most popular and celebrated novelists of Odisa". Mohanty was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958 for his novel, Kaa, published in 1956, and was one of the fellows of the Sahitya Akademi. Mohanty died on 6 April 1994 at the age of 87.
Aadim Vichar is a 2014 Indian Sambalpuri Language drama film directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. The film won 62nd National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Odia and is a sequel to the 2012 movie "Sala Budha". Atal Bihari Panda and Sushree Smita Panda played lead roles in the film.
Turtle is an Indian Hindi-language film directed by Dinesh S Yadav and Produced by Mr. Ashok H Choudhary. The film stars Sanjay Mishra, Amol Deshmukh, Teetu Verma, Yash Rajasthani, Ankit Sharma, Ramnath Choudhary and Monica Sharma. The film is based on the issue of World Water Crisis. It had its premiere at the Jagran Film Festival on 2 July 2018 and has been selected in China Film Festival, Third Eye Asian Film Festival and Rajasthan International Film Festival.
