The Arizona State Sun Devils softball team represents Arizona State University in NCAA Division I College softball. The team competes in the Pac-12 Conference, and plays its home games at Alberta B. Farrington Softball Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Clint Myers, former head coach of the Sun Devils, guided the team to the Women's College World Series in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013. The Sun Devils team won the National Championship in 2008 & 2011.

They finished the season 20–12, 8–10 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They lost in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament to Colorado. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the First Four to Syracuse.

The Sun Devils were led by sixth-year head coach Todd Graham and played their home games at Sun Devil Stadium. They competed as a member of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. Bryan McBride is an American track and field athlete who competes primarily in the high jump. McBride has coached long Jump, triple Jump and high Jump at Cuyamaca College since 2016. McBride is the 2017 National Champion, tying his personal best of 2.30 m. His exuberant celebration, running halfway down the football field in Hornet Stadium after the winning jump was captured on NBC's television coverage. He was also runner-up at the 2016 Indoor Championships.

The 2018–19 Phoenix mayoral special election was held on November 6, 2018, to elect the new Mayor of Phoenix, Arizona. The election was officially nonpartisan; candidates ran on the same ballot. In the initial round of the election, since no candidate reached 50 percent plus one vote, a runoff election was held on March 12, 2019, between the top two finishers.

They finished the season 20–11, 11–7 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tie for third place. They were set to take on Washington State in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 tournament. However, the remainder of the tournament, and all other postseason tournaments, were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2022 Arizona State Treasurer election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the State Treasurer of Arizona, concurrently with other federal and state elections. Incumbent Republican Treasurer Kimberly Yee initially ran for governor, but suspended her campaign on January 15, 2022, and ran for re-election as the Republican nominee, defeating the Democratic nominee, State Senator Martín Quezada, by a margin of 11.4%.
