Ludmilla Lacueva Canut (born 28 July 1971) is an Andorran writer of both fiction and non-fiction works, as well as an opinion columnist for the newspaper Bondia.
Ludmilla Lacueva Canut was originally trained in the hospitality industry, and liked to collect anecdotes about former hotels in Andorra. [1] Her first published work was Los pioneros de la hoteleria andorrana, a history of the hotel industry of Andorra. She was awarded the Research Prize by the General Council of Andorra for her work on the book. [2] When it was published in 2001, it became the best selling book in the run up to Saint George's Day, where it is tradition for women to give men a book. [1] Although that was a non-fiction work, [2] she has since moved into fiction while continuing to write opinion pieces for newspaper Bondia. [3]
Her second novel, L’home de mirada clara, [4] explored the isolationism and then development of late 19th century Andorra through the eyes of Charles Romeu. [5] [6] Lacueva Canut has also worked with the Andorran Ministry of Education and collaborated on the non-fiction books Andorra, nova aproximació a la història d’Andorra and Papers de recerca històrica. She routinely produces limited edition runs of Christmas stories, which are intended to be fiction but contain some non-fiction elements. Her works are kept in the Andorran National Library. She has placed twice in the Andorran National Literary Contest; in 2011 she was a finalist with Cursa d’esquí amb el bus exprés, and in 2012 she came second with El Bus de la memòria. [1]
Escaldes–Engordany is one of the seven parishes of Andorra. The Escaldes–Engordany parish was founded on 14 June 1978 and has the second largest population after Andorra la Vella. The parish is composed of the areas les Escaldes, Engordany, Els Vilars d'Engordany, Engolasters, and El Fener. As of 2014 it has a population of 13,634. Notable events include the town's annual jazz festival. It borders four parishes: Encamp to the north and northeast, Sant Julià de Lòria in the southwest, Andorra la Vella in the west, and La Massana in the northwest. Escaldes–Engordany also borders Spain in the east, south and southeast.

The literature of Andorra is part of Catalan literature, that is, of literature in the Catalan language. It is the literature represented by the writings created in the Principality of Andorra or by Andorran authors.
In the parliamentary elections in Andorra on 2 April 2023, the incumbent liberal-conservative coalition between Democrats for Andorra (DA) and Committed Citizens (CC) won an absolute majority led by Prime Minister Xavier Espot. This is the fourth legislature in a row in which DA governs the country. A new party, Concord, emerged in second place, taking the opposition leadership held by the Social Democratic Party since 2019, which fell to third place by losing four seats.
Muriel Villanueva i Perarnau is a Spanish writer. With a degree in Literary theory and Comparative literature from the University of Barcelona and a diploma in Music education from the University of Valencia, she was a professor at the School of Writing at the University of Barcelona between 2006 and 2014. Subsequently, she works as a writing teacher with several organizations. In 2020, she received one of the grants for literary creation from the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes for the project El refugi del Tarek 2.
