Balinese is an Austronesian language spoken on the Indonesian island of Bali, as well as Northern Nusa Penida, Western Lombok, Southern Sumatra, and Sulawesi. Most Balinese speakers also use Indonesian. The 2000 national census recorded 3.3 million people speakers of Balinese, however the Bali Cultural Agency estimated in 2011 that the number of people still using the Balinese language in their daily lives is under 1 million. The language has been classified as "not endangered" by Glottolog.

Anak Agung Pandji Tisna, also known as Anak Agung Nyoman Pandji Tisna, I Gusti Nyoman Pandji Tisna, or just Pandji Tisna, was the 11th descendant of the Pandji Sakti dynasty of Buleleng, Singaraja, which is in the northern part of Bali, Indonesia. He succeeded his father, Anak Agung Putu Djelantik, in 1944.

I Gusti Ketut Pudja was an Indonesian politician and national hero, who served as the first governor of Lesser Sunda from 1945 until 1946. Condong is a Balinese dance which is often performed as a preface to legong and accompanied by the semar pangulingan style of gamelan. The term also refers to a stock character, a quintessential representation of the maidservant, found in the condong dance as well as the legong, gambuh, and arja dances.
Ni Luh Dharma Putri Marino is an Indonesian actress, model, and presenter of Italian-Balinese descent. She is the second debut actress to win the Citra Award for Best Actress in the film Posesif (2017) – after Christine Hakim in 1974 with Cinta Pertama (1973).
Laksmi Shari De-Neefe Suardana, simply known as Laksmi De-Neefe Suardana, is an Indonesian fashion designer, author, UNICEF activist, 2022 G20 Ambassador, co-founder of Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2022. Suardana is the first representative from Bali to be crowned Puteri Indonesia. She represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2022.
Ni Luh Ketut Mahalini Ayu Raharja, known professionally as Mahalini, is an Indonesian singer and actress. She is known for placing fifth on the tenth season of Indonesian Idol in 2020.
