Luka Strezoski is a Serbian professor of electrical engineering and an entrepreneur, known for his contributions to energy systems research. He is also a professional mixed martial artist (MMA), who recently retired from the sport. [1] [2] [3]
Strezoski was born in Serbia. He pursued higher education at the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN) in University of Novi Sad, where he completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees with summa cum laude honors. During his graduate studies, he conducted research at the City University of London, UK (6 months) and Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, USA (two years). During his life in the USA, he trained in mixed martial arts alongside UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miočić. [4] [1]
After completing his Ph.D., Strezoski joined the faculty at FTN. His research focuses on integrating renewable energy sources into modern power grids, exploring how large-scale renewable energy production can be harnessed to create efficient and sustainable energy systems. [2] [5] [6] [7]
Strezoski has also worked on technologies for digitizing electric distribution utility control centers, including Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS). He has published peer-reviewed papers and served as an expert advisor for electric utility companies. [8] [9] [10]
Strezoski founded DerMag Consulting LLC and SMG Electric, companies that advise electric utility companies on deploying Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) solutions, as well as developing their own electric grid management solutions. He also founded Reload Energy Drinks.
Strezoski has competed in professional MMA bouts and was recognized as a welterweight fighter from Serbia, ranking among the top five in the Balkans and number one in Ohio. He achieved notable victories against Dequan Townsend, Jovan Marjanovic, and Portland Pringle, [11] and experienced a majority decision loss to Michel Pereira. [12] [1]
Distributed generation, also distributed energy, on-site generation (OSG), or district/decentralized energy, is electrical generation and storage performed by a variety of small, grid-connected or distribution system-connected devices referred to as distributed energy resources (DER).
The electric power industry covers the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electric power to the general public and industry. The commercial distribution of electric power started in 1882 when electricity was produced for electric lighting. In the 1880s and 1890s, growing economic and safety concerns lead to the regulation of the industry. What was once an expensive novelty limited to the most densely populated areas, reliable and economical electric power has become an essential aspect for normal operation of all elements of developed economies.
Aleksandar Vuksanović, better known by his stage name Aca Lukas, is a Serbian pop-folk singer and musician.
Energy demand management, also known as demand-side management (DSM) or demand-side response (DSR), is the modification of consumer demand for energy through various methods such as financial incentives and behavioral change through education.
Alexander Karageorgevitch, also known as Prince Alexander of Serbia and Yugoslavia or Prince Aleksandar III Karađorđević, is a member of the House of Karađorđević, the former ruling family of the defunct Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He is the third and youngest grandchild of the last Yugoslav king, Peter II.
A virtual power plant (VPP) is a system that integrates multiple, possibly heterogeneous, power resources to provide grid power. A VPP typically sells its output to an electric utility. VPPs allow energy resources that are individually too small to be of interest to a utility to aggregate and market their power. As of 2024, VPPs operated in the United States, Europe, and Australia.
NLB Komercijalna banka is a bank founded in 1970 with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia. It is owned by Slovenian NLB Group.
Energy engineering is a multidisciplinary field of engineering that focuses on optimizing energy systems, developing renewable energy technologies, and improving energy efficiency to meet the world's growing demand for energy in a sustainable manner. It encompasses areas such as energy harvesting and storage, energy conversion, energy materials, energy systems, energy efficiency, energy services, facility management, plant engineering, energy modelling, environmental compliance, As one of the most recent engineering disciplines to emerge, energy engineering plays a critical role in addressing global challenges like climate change, carbon reduction, and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and sustainable energy.
The smart grid is an enhancement of the 20th century electrical grid, using two-way communications and distributed so-called intelligent devices. Two-way flows of electricity and information could improve the delivery network. Research is mainly focused on three systems of a smart grid – the infrastructure system, the management system, and the protection system. Electronic power conditioning and control of the production and distribution of electricity are important aspects of the smart grid.
A photovoltaic system, also called a PV system or solar power system, is an electric power system designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics. It consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar panels to absorb and convert sunlight into electricity, a solar inverter to convert the output from direct to alternating current, as well as mounting, cabling, and other electrical accessories to set up a working system. Many utility-scale PV systems use tracking systems that follow the sun's daily path across the sky to generate more electricity than fixed-mounted systems.
Elektroprivreda Srbije is a joint-stock electric utility power company fully owned by the Government of Serbia, with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia. It was founded in 1991 and it has 19,595 employees, making it the largest enterprise in the country.
Wind power is a fledgling source of renewable energy in Serbia. In 2020, the wind power provided 963 GWh (2.83%) of the total electricity generated in Serbia, up from 48 GWh (0.15%) in 2017. Wind power is the second most favored energy source by the Serbian public, second only to solar energy.
An electrical grid is an interconnected network for electricity delivery from producers to consumers. Electrical grids consist of power stations, electrical substations to step voltage up or down, electric power transmission to carry power over long distances, and finally electric power distribution to customers. In that last step, voltage is stepped down again to the required service voltage. Power stations are typically built close to energy sources and far from densely populated areas. Electrical grids vary in size and can cover whole countries or continents. From small to large there are microgrids, wide area synchronous grids, and super grids. The combined transmission and distribution network is part of electricity delivery, known as the power grid.
Smart grid policy in the United States refers to legislation and other governmental orders influencing the development of smart grids in the United States.

The winners are selected by the Basketball Federation of Serbia.
A small number of municipalities in Serbia held local elections in 2009. These were not part of the country's regular cycle of local elections but instead took place in certain jurisdictions where either the local government had fallen or the last local elections for four-year terms had taken place in 2005.
