Luma Russo Moura (born 30 March 1995) is a Brazilian model, pilot, make-up artist and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Charm 2023. She became the first winner in the pageant's history. [1] [2] [3]

Personal life

Luma Russo Moura was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and raised in Divinópolis. She graduated as a commercial airline pilot (Skymates Inc. and FTA UK) and is a professional makeup artist graduate ((Brighton Makeup School) in England. [4] [5] [6]

Russo competed at Miss Minas Gerais CNB 2020, representing Divinópolis, where she placed 2nd Runner-Up as well as represented Minas Gerais at the Miss Supranational Brasil 2020 competition. [7]

Miss Charm 2023

Russo was appointed As to represent Brazil at Miss Charm 2023 which was held on 16 February 2023 at the Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. [8] Where she won becoming the first winner in the pageant's history. [9]

In the final question and answer portion, the top three contestants were asked the same question by the judge Natalie Glebova: "Every morning when you wake up, what do you think is the meaning of life? What are you living for?". Russo replied:

"If I have to sum it up in one word: freedom. Freedom, being able to travel where you want to, be who you want, do what you want, be the woman you are meant to be, follow your dreams.... To be able to achieve the knowledge, not only academically but the knowledge of culture, of emotional intelligence, to be able to reach your full potential." [2]

During her reign as Miss Charm, she was able to visit so far Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia, besides Brazil.

Miss Minas Gerais is a Brazilian beauty pageant which selects the representative for the State of Minas Gerais at the Miss Brazil contest. The pageant was created in 1955 and has been held every year since with the exception of 1990–1991, 1993, and 2020. The pageant is held annually with representation of several municipalities. Since 2023, the State director for Miss Minas Gerais is Diley Almeida. Minas Gerais has won nine crowns in the national contest.

Miss Grand Brazil 2024 will be the sixth edition of the Miss Grand Brazil pageant, scheduled to be on August 31, 2024. Candidates from 27 states and federal district will compete for the title. The competition license was transferred to Adriana Macedo, who has owned and run the pageant since 2024.
