It is popularly known locally as either Cumbica Airport, after the district where it is located and the Brazilian Air Force base that exists at the airport complex, or Guarulhos Airport, after the municipality of Guarulhos, in the state of São Paulo, where it is located. Since November 28, 2001, the airport has been named after André Franco Montoro (1916–1999), former Governor of São Paulo state. The airport was rebranded as GRU Airport in 2012.

Luz is a metro station located between República and Sé districts, in the central region of São Paulo. This station connects the lines 1-Blue, operated by Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo, and 4-Yellow, operated by ViaQuatro. It also has connection with the CPTM station, which attends lines 7-Ruby and 11-Coral with no additional cost, and Line 13-Jade (Airport-Express).
Line 4 (Yellow) (Portuguese: Linha 4–Amarela) is one of the six lines that make up the São Paulo Metro and one of the thirteen lines that make up the São Paulo Metropolitan Rail Transportation Network. Originally called Southeast-Southwest Line, the line goes from Vila Sônia to Luz and currently has 11 stations along its 12.8 km (8.0 mi) and transports around 800,000 users/day. It is one of the most modern subway lines in Latin America and the first line in the region to utilize driverless trains and platform screen doors in all stations.

Line 17 (Gold) (Portuguese: Linha 17–Ouro) is an under construction monorail project for the São Paulo Metro. The line will have 14 stations, beginning at the São Paulo-Morumbi station and ending at the Jabaquara station, with a branch to Congonhas station, connected to the São Paulo/Congonhas Airport. It will have integration with Line 1-Blue, Line 4-Yellow, and Line 5-Lilac as well as CPTM Line 9-Emerald. The line was originally one of the transportation projects supporting the 2014 FIFA World Cup. However, delays and contract disputes have pushed the completion date from the original 2013 full opening date to 2026. Once completed, the line will be the first in the system to have a branch.

The route is 12.2 kilometres (7.6 mi) long with a total of 3 stations. It connects the Engenheiro Goulart Station in São Paulo to the Guarulhos Airport Station, in the city of Guarulhos.
Chucri Zaidan will be a monorail station of Line 17-Gold of ViaMobilidade, which is currently under construction, and will connect Line 9-Emerald to Congonhas Airport.
