Muralidhar Laxmanrao Kulkarni is an Indian pediatrician and genetician who currently heads the Pediatric division of dharwad medical college, dharwad. India. [1] He joined J.J.M. Medical College in 1975 as lecturer in pediatrics and was chosen to head the department in 1993. He is the youngest recipient of the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy Award of Medical Council of India as an eminent medical teacher in 1994. [2] He was also the founder president of Karnataka hemophilia society. [3]
Kulkarni was born in Dharwad, India[ citation needed ] on September 8, 1947. [4] He did his early schooling in Dharwad, then studied at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, where he got his MBBS in 1971 [4] and in 1975 his MD in pediatrics. [4]

Dharwad, is a city located in the north western part of the Indian state of Karnataka. Shivakumara Swami was an Indian humanitarian, spiritual leader and educator. He was a Veerashaiva Lingayat religious figure, he joined the Siddaganga Matha in 1930 Karnataka and became head seer from 1941. He also founded the Sri Siddaganga Education Society. He is a resident Guru at Dr. Gangubai Hangal Gurukul Trust in Hubli. He was born and brought up in Hasanagi, a small village in the state of Karnataka in India.
The Bidhan Chandra Roy Award was instituted in 1962 in memory of Dr. B. C. Roy by the Medical Council of India. It is presented by the President of India in New Delhi every year on July 1, National Doctors' Day. It is also the highest honour that can be achieved by a doctor in India.
Devegowda Javaregowda, known as De Ja Gou or simply Javaregowda, was an Indian Kannada writer, folklorist, researcher, scholar and academic. He was disciple of authors T.N. Srikantaiah and Kuvempu. His literary career spans over decades in which he wrote over thirty-four biographies in Kannada language and other works including children's literature. He campaigned for the promotion of Kannada language. He had received Pampa Prashasti (1998), Padma Shri (2001) and the Karnataka Ratna (2008) awards for his contributions in literature and education. He became a centenarian in 2015 and died on 30 May 2016.
Parameshwara Gangadharaiah better known by name Dr. G. Parameshwara, is an Indian politician who served as seventh Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, the first Dalit leader to hold the Deputy Chief Minister office in Karnataka and also the longest-served President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for two consecutive terms.
Bindu Madhav Pathak was an exponent of rudra veena and Sitar. He played Khayal style of music on been. He was an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio. Some of his famous students are Hindraj Divekar, Shrikant Pathak, Ramchandra V Hegde and Jyoti Hegde. He was a recipient of several awards and titles, including the Karnataka Kala Tilak Award, Sri Kanak Purandhar Prashasti, Arya Bhata Award, and "Vidyaparipoorna" title. Pathak retired as the Head of the Department of Music of Karnatak University. He died at 68 on 4 February 2004.
