The Media Arts Production Skills(MAPS) film school is a media production school established in 1983 by then Vermont High School principal Richie Walsh. The original program was held with 12 students with limited resources. The facilitator was Roger Manogue also known as Stretch. He and Richie worked tirelessly to build the course into a well recognised and respected program. Peter Thurmer took over from Roger in the late 80s and was the key driver who continued to shape the program for many years. Peter left after over 20 plus years service and his and Rogers legacies are many students who have gone on to forge successful film and television careers.

It is located within Hamilton College, a public secondary school. It offers training in film production. There are currently three faculty members teaching around 25 students.
Areas of study at the school consist of cinematography, directing, producing, editing, screenwriting, production and post-production audio, photography, visual effects, film theory and digital media.
The school favours the production of short, commercially viable films over academic theory. [1] Pedagogy centres on text creation. Assessment areas include creativity and problem solving. Alumni graduate with show reels exhibiting their work as editors, audio artists, production managers, and camera operators. Students must complete 12 days of work experience or internship during each course.

The school consists of a dedicated building for Diploma students and the Film School proper for Advanced Diploma. The school is outfitted with non-linear video editing facilities, 4K cameras and monitors and audio engineering studios equipped with industry standard software.
The principal teachers are feature film director Ashlee Page [2] and actress and acting coach Genevieve Mooy. [3]
52 Tuesdays produced by Bryan Mason won the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival and the Directing Award: World Cinema Dramatic at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.[ citation needed ]
Ashlee Page was honoured at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, as a recipient of the Mahindra Global Filmmaking (MGF) Award. [4]

Glenunga International High School is a publicly funded international school in Adelaide, South Australia. Ellen Kuras is an American cinematographer whose body of work includes narrative and documentary films, music videos and commercials in both the studio and independent worlds. One of few female members of the American Society of Cinematographers, she is a pioneer best known for her work in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). She has collaborated with directors such as Michel Gondry, Spike Lee, Sam Mendes, Jim Jarmusch, Rebecca Miller, Martin Scorsese and more. She is the three-time winner of the Award for Excellence in Dramatic Cinematography at the Sundance Film Festival, for her films Personal Velocity: Three Portraits, Angela and Swoon, which was her first dramatic feature after getting her start in political documentaries.
Cary Joji Fukunaga is an American filmmaker. He first gained recognition for writing and directing the 2009 film Sin nombre and the 2011 adaptation of Jane Eyre. He was the first director of partial East Asian descent to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, as the director and executive producer of the first season of the HBO series True Detective. He received acclaim for the 2015 war drama Beasts of No Nation, and directed the 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die (2021). He also co-wrote the 2017 Stephen King adaptation It.
Andrew Rossi is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, known for directing documentaries such as Page One: Inside the New York Times (2011) and The Andy Warhol Diaries (2022).
Maryse Alberti is a French cinematographer who mainly works in the United States on independent fiction films and vérité, observational documentaries. Alberti has won awards from the Sundance Film Festival and the Spirit Awards. She was the first contemporary female cinematographer featured on the cover of American Cinematographer for her work on Todd Haynes' Velvet Goldmine.
Laurie "Lol" CrawleyBSC, is an English cinematographer. His works include Ballast, Four Lions, and The Crimson Petal and the White.
Ariel Kleiman is an Australian director and filmmaker based in London.
Bradford Marcel Young, A.S.C is an American cinematographer. He is best known for his work on Selma, When They See Us, A Most Violent Year, Solo: A Star Wars Story and Arrival, which earned him a nomination for an Academy Award.

Whiplash is a 2014 American psychological drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle, and starring Miles Teller, J. K. Simmons, Paul Reiser and Melissa Benoist. The film follows the ambitious music student and jazz drummer Andrew Neiman (Teller), who is pushed to his limit by his abusive instructor Terence Fletcher (Simmons) at the fictitious Shaffer Conservatory in New York City. The film was produced by Bold Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Right of Way Films. Sony Pictures acquired the worldwide distribution rights, releasing the film under its Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films banners for its North American and international releases respectively. The film opened in limited release domestically in the United States and Canada on October 10, 2014, gradually expanding to over 500 screens and finally closing on March 26, 2015. The film grossed $49 million on a production budget of $3.3 million.
The 2014 ANZ Championship season was the seventh season of the ANZ Championship. The 2014 season began on 1 March and concluded on 22 June. With a team coached by Simone McKinnis, captained by Bianca Chatfield and also featuring Tegan Caldwell, Geva Mentor, Madison Robinson and Catherine Cox, Melbourne Vixens won both the minor premiership and the overall championship. Vixens defeated Queensland Firebirds in both the major semi-final and the grand final as they won their second premiership. They won their first in 2009.
Mei Mei is a 2009 Chinese and US co-production drama short film directed by Xu Xiaoxi and written by Roberto F. Canuto and Xu Xiaoxi. The film's premier took place in Hungary, where the film was part of the official selection at the 3rd Annual Slow Film International Film Festival, a successor to the 32-year-old Hungary Film Festival, born of the Film Art Initiative that includes films from Europe and North America. Mei Mei was screened in late August 2009 to an international crowd and was received as one of the festival's finest.
Benjamin T. Richardson, ASC is an English cinematographer and television producer. He is best known for his work on the films Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012), The Fault in Our Stars (2014), Wind River (2017), and Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021), as well as the limited series Mare of Easttown (2021), which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
Rachel Morrison is an American cinematographer and director. For her work on Mudbound (2017), Morrison earned a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, making her the first woman ever nominated in that category. She has twice worked with director Ryan Coogler, working on the films Fruitvale Station (2013), and Black Panther (2018).
Reed Morano is an American film director and cinematographer. Morano was the first woman in history to win both the Emmy and Directors Guild Award for directing a drama series in the same year for the pilot episode of The Handmaid's Tale. Morano is known for her cinematography on feature films such as Frozen River (2008), Kill Your Darlings (2013) and The Skeleton Twins (2014).
Nick Remy Matthews, ACS, is a British-born, Australian-raised director of photography who lives in Spain. In 2020 he was named "Cinematographer of the Year" by the Australian Cinematographer's Society. He was also named byVariety as one of the "10 Cinematographers to Watch" in 2019 for his work on Hotel Mumbai., a factual action drama depicting the Mumbai terror attacks, directed by long time collaborator Anthony Maras. The film stars Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, Suhail Nayyar, Jason Isaacs, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Tilda Cobham-Hervey and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 7 September 2018 where Matthews was singled out for praise for his work on the film. Rolling Stone declare that "Even in the chaos of bullets and bombs — kudos to ace cinematographer Nick Remy Matthews — Maras creates a sense of actual lives hanging in the balance.". The Hollywood Reporter also praises the "...kinetic cinematography..." that enhances "...the idea that these are real events.". Variety describes the film as "Stunningly framed and photographed..." and as having a "...visual striking aesthetic."Washington Square News describes the film's cinematography as spanning "...cramped utility closets and breathtaking skylines, a visual treat from beginning to end."
Raymond Charles Argall is best known as a cinematographer and director for both film and television. He has also worked as an editor. His multi-award-winning feature film Return Home (1990) is regarded by many critics as an Australian cinema classic. Argall served on the board of the Australian Directors Guild (ADG) for sixteen years, holding the position of president from 2006 to 2015 and secretary from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, Argall launched a business restoring archival films through his production company Piccolo Films. In 2018 the ADG presented him with its prestigious Cecil Holmes Award.
Sophie Hyde is an Australian film director, writer and producer based in Adelaide, South Australia. She is co-founder of Closer Productions and known for her award-winning debut fiction film, 52 Tuesdays (2013) and the comedy drama Animals (2019). She has also made several documentaries, including Life in Movement (2011), a documentary about dancer and choreographer Tanja Liedtke, and television series, such as The Hunting (2019). Her latest film, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, premiered at the Sundance Festival on 23 January 2022, being released later in the year on Hulu and in cinemas in the UK and Australia.
Valerie May Taylor AM is a conservationist, photographer and filmmaker, and an inaugural member of the diving hall-of-fame. With her husband Ron Taylor, she made documentaries about sharks, and filmed sequences for films including Jaws (1975).
