MA Hasan is a Bangladeshi physician, human rights activist and genocide researcher. [1] In recognition of his contributions to the literature on the liberation war, he was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2016. [2]

Humayun Ahmed Author, poet, dramatist and film director

Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and lecturer. His breakthrough was his debut novel Nondito Noroke published in 1972. Bangla Academy

Bangla Academy is an autonomous institution funded by Bangladesh government to promote and foster the Bengali language, literature and culture, to develop and implement national language policy and to do original research in the Bengali language. Shahriar Kabir

Shahriyar Kabir is a Bangladeshi journalist, filmmaker, human rights activist, and author of more than 70 books focusing on human rights, communism, fundamentalism, history, and the Bangladesh war of independence. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1995.

Hasan Hafizur Rahman (1932–1983) became the editor of the Daily Bangla right after the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He also worked for the government as a high official and edited an account of the independence struggle called The Liberation War of Bangladesh, which was published in sixteen volumes. He was the author of thirteen books including eight collections of poetry and Adhunik Kobi O Kobita, a book of critical essays.

Anisuzzaman Bangladeshi academic

Anisuzzaman was a Bangladeshi academic of Bengali literature. He was an activist who took part in the Language Movement (1952), participated in Mass Uprising (1969), and took part in the War of Liberation (1971). He was a member of the Planning Commission to the Government of Bangladesh during the Bangladesh liberation war and a member of the National Education Commission set up by the government after liberation. He was inducted as a National Professor by the Government of Bangladesh in 2018.

Syed Hasan Imam is an actor, film director, television director and cultural personality in Bangladesh. He earned Ekushey Padak (1999), Independence Day Award (2016) and Bangladesh National Film Award for Lifetime Achievement (2014). He was part of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He became an honorary fellow of Bangla Academy in 2010.

Movement demanding trial of war criminals (Bangladesh)

The movement demanding trial of war criminals is a protest movement in Bangladesh, from 1972 to present.

The Bangla College killing field is located in the Mirpur area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 1971, during the Bangladesh Liberation War, the Pakistani army killed 3 million Bangladeshis with the help of some local collaborators. It has been claimed to be the largest genocide after World War II. Bangladesh officially became independent on 16 December 1971, but the neighborhood of Mirpur was liberated from Pakistan Army and local Bihari people on 31 January 1972, 45 days after the declaration of independence was signed. Mirpur was largely inhabited by Biharis who were against the secession movement, so genocide took place on a large scale. Mirpur was the last battlefield of the war. Bangla College is one of the largest killing fields in Bangladesh.

Sanjida Khatun is a Bangladeshi musicologist.

Amjad Hossain

Amjad Hossain was a Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992.
